Brooklyn’s apartment was not only closer, but she also had a wider variety of appropriate clothes. Brooklyn sighed. “Yeah, hop in. Please make it quick, though, I can’t stick around long.” Showing up and demanding answers from Hunter will have to wait. Lacy squealed and jumped in the passenger seat. “You’re the best! I promise I will be quick.” Brooklyn rolled her eyes and jumped in her seat. I guess confronting Hunter will have to wait. -_- ‘Hey, wyd?’ Hunter messaged her. Brooklyn glanced up to see if Lacy had come out yet. She had been in there for thirty minutes and knew she would be coming out any moment.

I yelled. If I stayed any longer, I would certainly miss my flight. I didn't want to waste any more time here. I refused to play along with Bruno anymore!

I draped her pancakes with honey and dropped it on the table right in front of her, serving it with a glass of milk, after which I went back to the kitchen and had mine with a cup of hot chocolate. No one was at the hospital when I got there, and luckily for me, I brought a book along, so I sat right beside the bed and started reading the book. The book was “ My Father's Wish” by Bellaboy, a touching story of how a young man, Hunter, was set up by his late father's will to marry his middle school bully, Hazel, just so that he; Hunter, could claim his inheritance.

"Hello. I'm here to pick up my expedited visa authorization. Lisa White." I handed over my passport. The clerk typed. Frowned. "One moment. I'm not seeing your file in the system. Let me check with my supervisor." Minutes dragged. I kept glancing at the clock on my phone. Less than an hour until the gate closed. I couldn't hold back. "Any update?" "Please be patient. The system is running slow." Slow? Unease spread through my chest. 1:25 a.m. The announcement came. Clear. Professional.

but: "Wait!'"

The book is yet to happen, I am yet to arrive, wrongs are yet to set themselves right, wounds are yet to be healed. A lot can happen over coffee– the punch-line in the Café Coffee Day counter in the airport was treachery at its best! Nothing had actually happened! After two cappuccinos, the punch-line surfaced as a smirk – “Go, see, feel and touch your genitals while you pee. Nothing else’s really going to happen! It’s your Waiting for Godot moment. So wait.”

I replied I didn't wait for his response before I climbed out of bed, then went to the bathroom to do my morning routine. When I was done, I proceeded to the dinning to get a quick meal before settling down to a book I had been on for the past two days. It was not that the book wasn’t interesting, rather, it was, each time I tried to read, something that would make me abandon my book until the next day always pops up. “I will read half of this book today and another half tomorrow and then next tomorrow, I will read the whole book within twenty-four hours” I reasoned silently
