Guilt and regret hit me as I grappled with the profound realization that I had been ignorant of such fundamental aspects of my wife's life. "I never really asked her about her family. I guess that's why she didn't tell me," I muttered, my voice tinged with sorrow and self-reproach. "What kind of a husband have I been all these years not to know anything about my wife?" I lamented, my heart heavy with the weight of my oversight.

He mutters, " If you are sorry, then be sorry for yourself and your marriage. I am sure she asked for divorce because of your ignorance. I am warning you, Travis, the tendency of keeping the old memories and unable to erase them for the sake of your present will lead you to somewhere regretting!" Travis's eyes widen in shock. But not because of the warning but a sudden strong squeeze in his heart. He falls on knees, clenching his chest. His face turns and he gasps to suck some air in, but failed. The word regret keeps hitting his chest like drums. He is regretting, he is in pain because of the regret - But for what? Why is he regretting? Why is he hating the fact that she wants to divorce. "

My ignorance prompted me to divorce her for Nelly, but I was simply being imprisoned. Everything was a nightmare during the years I was without Serene; I had to compromise because I hoped Nelly would change her ways, but she just became worse by the day. I do not regret spending millions on her in a week; I simply regret making the wrong decision in the first place. I was still wondering if Serene and her son would ever forgive me. "Sir, calm down; you are thinking too much," George said, shaking my shoulder. "You will not understand, George; I am so depressed."

How he left her hanging every time Zoe called over a little misfortune. Regret filled his chest as he fell to his knees and began to cry. Micheal stood and gave him some time alone to process the new development, “We will continue to search and move as fast as we can to find your missing wife, Mr. Sinclair,” Micheal said before walking out and shutting the door behind him. Ethan shook his head as he grabbed onto his shirt and continued to mumble, “It must not be! How will I ever atone for hurting you this way Rose? I'm sorry!” His shoulders shook as he remained on his knees, shattered and broken with a heart filled with regret!

If anyone would take revenge on anybody, it would be my mama who should be going after him. She didn’t even care about him anymore because she already had everything she wanted. She had a loving husband who treated her like a queen. She had amazing kids who would do anything for her. She didn’t need a random man who came into her life just to hurt her. He wasn’t even worth revenging. I couldn’t help but wonder why he came back after so many years. “You’ve only been here for two days, don’t you want to spend more time with me? Haven’t you missed me?” He asked, letting out a mocking laugh.

One word at a time. “I failed my wife. I failed her for five years. I was emotionally absent. I prioritized work over her. I didn’t see her. I didn’t hear her. I didn’t love her the way she deserved. There is no excuse. There is only regret. I will spend the rest of my life becoming the man she deserved then.” He stopped typing and stared at the words on the screen. He read it aloud to the empty room. His voice was low and rough from lack of sleep. It cracked on the last line. On the word regret.

I looked at the wet patches my tears had left on the bed. Rebecca, the patient at the hospital, had been calling me. We had known each other for only a few days, but she had grown attached to me as though we had been friends for years. I couldn't reply because her first message had been asking for my wedding pictures. I didn't want to reopen my wounds, so I ignored her. Now that I had a little hope again, I decided to reply. “Men can be so disappointing. I'm sorry for what happened to you. Maybe your husband-to-be wasn't the man destined for you. Don't let this break you. Your life and happiness are worth far more than this disappointment.”

But instead, I stumbled upon something that wasn't supposed to be there. I couldn't speak at first. The words lodged in my throat, choking me. I couldn’t understand how we had gotten here. This wasn’t how it was supposed to be. How could he do this to me? To us? I didn’t even look at Ophelia. I couldn’t. She was nothing to me. She always had been. It was him. Zeke. My husband. The man who I had built my life around, the man I thought I knew better than anyone. Bastard. How could he soil our marriage like this?

I say shakily, my life flashing before my eyes. “You can’t say I didn’t warn you. The only thing that pains me is that your bitch of a wife isn’t here to burn with you. Oh, that would have been something,” she says, chuckling to herself like a lunatic, and something feral roars inside me. “I’ll make you regret this,” I promise, and I don’t think the words register to Gwen as she releases the lit lighter in her hand, but I wish it did. I really do.

“I just need to get on with my life. And come on, you’re the Alpha. You can have anything you want.” He frowns. “I wish I could move on like you have, but it’s not so easy. Especially when I regret the decision I made three years ago.” Seriously, he’s going to come in here and talk about regret after everything? Has he forgotten that he’s the one who moved on without a thought? Without even an explanation. “Regret?” I can’t help but roll my eyes. “After you brought your new wife to my restaurant? What exactly do you regret?”
