He almost dropped the book as he flinched. It caught him in awe when he tried to look at its page because the inscription changed to a modern roman alphabet easier for him to read. Chambre…Siego…Niptoumi… Eleand continued reading. Until the words from his mouth progressed, he could not simply stop. His vision went obscured. Everything went dark.

But the second I did, it breathed. The book didn’t open. It unfolded. The cover split open in silence, pages spilling like silk, the air humming as the magic within adjusted to me. Not the other way around. I froze. There was no resistance. No permission asked. Just acceptance. Like the book had been waiting. The ink inside shifted before my eyes, words scrawling themselves across the first page in ink that shimmered between black and violet: To the One Who Was Hidden. To the One the Stars Remember.

Chapter 55: Take a deep breath The bath chamber smelled of roses, steam, and something faintly metallic. The kind of metallic tang only a Lycan could detect. Delia sat inside the marble tub, her lithe body submerged beneath water shimmering with petals and oils. Two maids knelt on either side of the tub, sponging down her arms and back while whispering gossip that died whenever Delia’s sharp golden eyes flicked their way. The water clung to her, rippling each time she shifted, her skin gleaming like polished ivory under the lantern glow. She tilted her head back, allowing one maid to pour warm water over her hair, cascading down her neck in silky strands.
