Zelda's POV It was a relief seeing the situation before me. I had never imagined or thought that my mates could be vulnerable. I mean, they were amongst the most powerful lycans after the death of the king. They share his pure blood and they were almost invincible. What exactly did they use on Aiden? However, I was glad to see that he was alive although unconscious.

Both held their questions in, despite Aurelia's desperate need to know what happened. When they arrived at the temple, an odd arch shaped like two t's stuck together welcomed them. "What happened here?" "The Yanhuo attacked us. They are a race of black humanoid monkeys with bone white faces, and they breathe fire. They are territorial, and yet I do not know why they attacked us." Zinjo looked over at Aurelia and said, "Go on, I know you want to." Aurelia drew the Lion's Fang and smiled, "We would like to help you with this threat."

“Frustrating, isn’t it? I went through thirty-eight weapons before I found mine.” “His was a shovel,” Rion deadpans. Edward laughs. “It was not a shovel. It was a halberd. It only looked like a shovel because it was a prototype. You know this, Rion.” I laugh too, but it’s strained. The farther I go, the more ridiculous I feel. What if I’m the only one who doesn’t get a weapon? What if I’m a different type of hunter altogether? Worse—what if I’m not actually a hunter at all? What if someone made a mistake?

I gave him a look, unsure whether to be annoyed or comforted. "Aiden—" "No, listen," he interrupted, sitting up straight. "You think you’re dangerous to us? Please. We literally just fought a bunch of demons, got our asses kicked—well, mostly Ash got his ass kicked......."

Zylia kept her hood up, eyes on the ground, and I kept glancing over my shoulder for reasons I didn’t want to admit. Raven moved faster than us. “If we make it before nightfall, we can rest in the ridge. After that, it’s two days to the Hollow.” Zylia didn’t answer. Her pace slowed as we neared the edge of the trees. “You okay?” I asked. She shook her head. “It’s happening again.” “What is?” She stopped, gripping her wrist. Light flickered beneath her skin, faint threads pulsing along her veins. I caught her before she collapsed.

I screamed, my voice tearing in my throat. The titan beneath the obsidian spire let out a second, terrifying heave. Its massive, Emerald-lit orbs flared with a cruel, primordial intelligence, staring up through the black glass at the tiny warm-blooded specs invading its tomb. Four massive, white-calcified tendrils—each as thick as a siege tower and dripping with ancient, gelatinous bile—erupted through the floor of the inverted spire, reaching upward with terrifying speed to crush the falling cellar remnants. "Killian, hold the arch!" I barked, my hybrid core flaring into a white-hot fury that burned away the cold terror in my veins.

His almond shaped eyes were yellow in colour and he apparently had a giant scissor on his back. “The scouts that were sent are probably under the same influence. We need to handle this situation quickly or it will be bad for the kingdom.” Dzy was from the Whale Clan which comprised whales and dolphins demihumans. Dzy was a dolphin demihuman and had a white body with grey patches around his eyes like a panda’s. He had a dorsal fin sticking out of his back and was in full armour as well, except for his helmet which he held in his hand. Dzy’s hair was combed firmly in place such that the water flow did not disturb it. His eyes were like black pearls with a small portion of white outline.

She stared to nothingness for a while, her lips wide open. She clenched her fist on the table’s edges, indifferent to the ghoul who’s not even aware of Z’s dilemma. Sylvanias had long been wiped off the map. They were rumored to be the only clan who could rival Henmulga’s prowess. They were feared, revered, because of their God-like abilities. It was said that they could wipe out an entire Empire with nothing but a flick of their hand. And Z had no reason to perceive it as a lie. Look at her father. He’s someone who could even thwart death itself and the only living Wielder who could withstand the hands of time.
