I whispered, my voice trembling like a leaf caught in the wind. His eyelids fluttered, the faintest movement, like moth wings in the dark. And then...again... “Elena…” My name, carved from breath and struggle, but real. IT WAS REAL.... Tears blurred my vision instantly. I pressed both hands over my mouth, biting back the sound that wanted to tear free from me. For so long, I had sat by his side, pouring words into a void, begging him to hear me. And now… now, he had answered.

Maybe they could cool something, somewhere. So I whispered his name once, quietly, like it might reach him through the walls, through the city, through everything that had gone wrong. “Please, Rino… just let this be enough.”

Something that made my breath hitch every time his eyes lingered on mine. Instead of answering, instead of drowning myself in words I didn’t even understand, I turned to the tiny warmth in my arms. Belle's P.O.V __________ "Why me...", I whispered trying to hold back the tears that had started to build up. Since I'd joined the game, only bad things had been happening one after the other. I squeezed my eyelids shut hoping this was all just a bad dream. And soon.. I was gonna wake up, right? He sluggishly lowered his lips to my ear to whisper.
