The clouds churned angrily above like ominous waves, wind tore through the night with dust swirling in the air. A sudden thunder cracked loudly above. I looked up. And then… rain came crashing down. It started with one drop on my cheek, then another. And within seconds, it was pouring—a wild, heavy downpour, like the sky had been holding in tears for too long and finally broke. Just like me. I stood there, soaked, staring at nothing. The air was filled with earthy scent of damp soil and fresh leaves. This is perfect, I thought bitterly. At least this is better than being in there with a man who's cold, arrogant, distant and heartless.
