On every dock receipt? On every man standing guard?” He shook his head quickly. “I swear—” I grabbed his jaw sharply without even thinking. “You think I’m stupid?” “I want a name,” I said quietly. “Who sent you?”

His gaze is firmly on the floor, though I see the way his hands clutch tightly into fists and then release.

Claude’s POV I got back from the bathroom and headed back with the grab man that had accompanied me in the first place. I had hidden the watch carefully in a place one would least expect. “ So? How's he feeling?” Steven asked the man who accompanied me the moment we came into his view. “ I think he's doing a lot better. You should ask him if you wanna confirm,” he shrugged. “ Next time, if you're allergic to something tell us right away. I can't afford being yelled out by my employer,” Steven complained as I went back to my chair.

Steven came in and took a seat opposite me. “That is sick, alpha. Really?” I nodded. “All these years of you chasing after Vivian and Jayson clicking with you like glue. You are telling me they are mates and kept it from you. why?” I didn’t know either. “I don’t know man, that is what I am going to ask when they get here.” Steven kept frowning. I didn’t know what their motive was.

"But it's more than we had yesterday which means we're making progress." Progress felt meaningless while Golden was still missing but I forced myself to nod while trying to stay hopeful. I asked while needing action instead of standing around helpless. "We follow up on every other lead," Zeke said while already pulling out his phone.
