"I know you're angry because of Lucinda. She's not with the company anymore, Brianna! So please come back! We belong together!"
I used to forgive him easily. That had only emboldened him and convinced him I could always be talked around. Whenever he made a mistake, he would launch into endless apologies about how sorry he was and how terrible he felt, knowing I would eventually forgive him.
Now, he only irritated me.
"No. Not possible. Never possible," I said coldly. "Stop wasting everyone's time. I'm not coming back."
I pointed toward the door. "You're welcome to buy some flowers. Other than that, get out. I don't want you interfering with business."
