The sound was a soft hum, the air shredding under the force of their dive. The drangel didn’t bother with subtlety. They came in screaming, each one armed with blades as long as my body. The first row slammed into the frost wyrms, wings folding at the last second, the impact shaking the air so hard it made my teeth ache. The wyrms reeled and their formation shattered. Some tried to climb, but the drangel were faster, slicing through their wings, peeling them out of the sky like rotten fruit. “I think they have this covered.” Ivan watched in awe as the drangel dove into the wyrms, slicing through them.

A large breeze went by causing me to shiver and unconsciously take a step closer to Dallas. Snow flurries swirled around, magical as ever - it was as if we were in a snow globe. I, very softly and slowly placed my palms on Dallas's chest and although in heels I still had to slightly get up on my tippy toes. Our eyes didn't disconnect for a single second.
