The taste of blood still lingered in my mouth and the scent of Evvie's pain was pushing me to the brink. His wolf lunged first, aiming for my throat. I dodged to the side, his jaws snapping shut inches from my neck. With a swift turn, I raked my claws across his flank, drawing a deep, red line that oozed blood. He howled in pain but didn’t back down. Instead, he charged at me again, faster this time, his jaws locking around my shoulder.

Soon I managed to reach another guy but I was about to attack him when I noticed two more wolves. I barely took a step when I sensed someone behind me also. I realised while chasing blindly, I fell in their trap. I was now surrounded from four sides and I had nowhere to run. But, I had no intention of running anyway. I stupidly attacked one of them and pierced my sharp teeth on his neck. The metallic taste of blood made my wolf more furious. It tore out flesh from his neck while growling for more as I bit his shoulder.

Red Blood wouldn't attack me this freely unless I am near their territory or in it. If I'm in it then that explains why their scent always disappears around the creek.
