Tss… I was searching for a book when I saw some romance novel. I reached for it and stared at the book’s cover. It has a steamy and sexy cover. It’s interesting. I nodded to myself. I flipped the first page and tried to read it. And luckily it has an interesting plot, though it’s not suitable for young readers. I was having a fun read when someone cleared his throat behind me. I turn around and my eyes widened when I saw Ronald! I quickly hide the book behind me as soon as I saw him, but his eyes flew to my arms which now hiding behind me.

She must have exhausted herself with all that training. I moved quietly into the room, intending to just take the book so it didn’t fall and wake her. But hope, like magic, has a price, and I am increasingly aware of that price. The book itself is a work of macabre art. The cover, made of dark leather that almost appears black, pulses with a life of its own, as if it were breathing. Their flushed bodies were wrapped haphazardly in a white satin sheet. "Are you looking for anything in particular?" Kade calls from across the library.

I finally picked a book, my fingers trailing over the cover as I read the title. "The Duke's Heart" was written on the cover in bold, golden letters. I smiled, as I read the short description at the back. I loved romance novels, and this one seemed like it would be right up my alley. I opened the book, feeling the worn pages crackle beneath my fingers. The book seemed old, like it had been read and reread countless times.

I scanned the shelves, my eyes tracing the titles and covers in search of the perfect book to momentarily distract me from the reality of my mother's illness.
