“Drink some more if you need to.”
An abrupt grunt burned in his throat, white teeth sinking into his bottom lip as his eyes clamped shut. His large palm dwarfed the miniature bottle of whisky as he brought it to his lips and chugged down the remainder. “Fuck,” he cried out, long and drawn out, his muscles clenching rigidly beneath bloodied skin.
“I know, baby. I’m sorry,” Zoe whispered, wiping her hair from her forehead with the side of her hand. “The needle is too weak to go through smoothly.”
