I loved who I was around him more than I liked myself as a senator’s aide. *** The days flew by, and before I knew it, it was Henry’s last evening in America. Dear Journal This is my first entry into you since I learned how to write. These are the first words I read and I am drawn in. She begins to detail her life gradually, from the moment she left her fathers house in Mexico till her coming to America and her search for work here. She gives a great backstory about herself and the more I read the more I feel like I know the kind of person she was. She was kind of like me; shy, closeted but still extremely ambitious hence her move to America to make money. I wish I had gotten to hear these stories from her.

His book lay discarded on the table beside him, like he hadn’t been in the middle of a chapter. His eyes — as piercing as ever — bore into me; I had little chance of brushing it off this time. I drew in a sharp breath and dared to meet his gaze. “What’s… going to happen when w-we get back to America?”

One month later Cassidy's POV We continued down the hallway, Jason's hand wrapped securely around my waist. My eyes moved to the desk in the waiting area where Starr's new assistant sat comfortably, I hadn't gotten the chance to meet her formally, well neither of us did since we were both busy most of the time and Jason had only returned home yesterday after being away on a two-day business trip. She had fired the last one a few days ago for reasons unknown to us but-

America asked with a timid little smile—so unlike the girl I bagged in an alley, despite the interruption. "Nah." I shook my head and felt my stomach drop when I turned to see Loretta almost at the stairs where we were standing. "I have other plans." My only hope about being seen hanging out with America by my girlfriend's mom, was maybe America hadn't actually started working at the feed store. No way would Loretta remember her from that night in Kings Falls. I'd already convinced myself of that the day America walked into the shop. "America," Loretta said as she reached the bottom of stairs then turned to look at me, unsmiling. "I hope you're behaving yourself tonight."

However, as I browse each website and social page, I find no trace of what I'm looking for. But what did I expect? That I could easily search for how to hire men for a dirty job and find it online? Foolish me. Frustrated, I shut down my computer and rose to my feet, a newfound resolve building within me. It's time to take matters into my own hands and seek information elsewhere. The most interesting thing about America is its diversity in culture and beliefs. Due to our history we have many people of different backgrounds united together to be called the united state of America. And in the same way, there are those who believe in crime, and I intend to leverage this.

I switch off the lights, lie down and, hug my pillow and start laughing. I can’t wait to see what is in store for me. I'm going to make the most of my time here, and I don’t want to regret anything. Even though I was super tired, the excitement of finally being here kept me awake. It will take some time for me to get fully comfortable since living here in the US is very different from India. I suddenly remember something. I get up and open my suitcase and take my diary out. I switch on the night lamp and take a seat on my bed. I put my password to open it and strike off the first thing on my bucket list. Go to America.
