"Maisie Shaffer, Rebecca is your sister. Do you really have to push her this far?!" My mom's expression was full of disgust. "I told you we shouldn't have said anything to her. She's been jealous of Rebecca since they were kids and always has to compete for everything. How could she possibly accept this baby?" As she spoke, my mom shoved me hard. "Get out! You're only going to upset Rebecca further!" I stumbled back, my heart pounding painfully against my ribs, every beat making my nerves shake. My eyes burned red as I stood frozen in place, shouting, "Mom! Am I not your daughter, too?"

"I have searched everywhere for you ?" "Of course. But I didn't really have the opportunity to do anything without father's command." Scar and Alan broke apart to find Shadow staring back at them from his seat with an amused expression. "This mongrel is your brother? I should have known." Alan scowled at Shadow , showing just what he thought of the Shadow who'd left his sister within their territory this long ,but Scar was past that already, and she wanted Alan to be, too. In the subtlest way she could, Scar came up to Alan 's side and placed her hand on his shoulder.

The clearing erupted into chaos, wolves fighting desperately against the overwhelming odds. Annabel’s focus remained on Evangeline. She fought her way through the fray, each step bringing her closer to her sister. When she finally reached her, Evangeline was waiting, her smile cold and taunting. “Still chasing shadows, sister?” Annabel didn’t respond. She struck fast and hard, forcing Evangeline to backpedal. Her sister’s confidence faltered for a moment, but then the shadows surged around her, forming a barrier. “You can’t touch me,” Evangeline said, her voice dripping with mockery. “Not while he’s watching.”

"Then the Council takes her. Uses her. And you spend the rest of your life running from what you could have been." I stood up. Walked to the pool. Stared at my reflection. Kara, I thought. Is that your name? The water rippled. And then she appeared. Not in the reflection. Beside me. A figure made of shadow and smoke, with eyes like embers and hair like midnight. Sister, she said. Her voice was mine. But deeper. Darker. You've been inside me my whole life, I thought. Waiting. For what? For you to be ready.

Stumbling upon Melanie’s diary, Sierra learned that her sister once dated Roy, so she exploited the connection to get close to Roy. She put on a white dress yesterday to seduce Roy when he was drunk, assuming Roy would mistake her for Melanie. However, to her surprise, he only had eyes for Willow, whose guts she hated. She trailed behind Willow out of the dormitory, harping on. “You must be aware that you’re just my sister’s replacement. He was in love with Melanie, and now he is into me. Mj’s muffled whimpers and grunts woke Moxie almost instantly, and he began to shake Jay, “ wake our little sister mon amour… the shadows are creeping in her mind,” Jay rubbed his eyes and shook his head before the sound of his sisters muffled cries forced his eyes open wide.

But I remained calm. "Hello, sister," I said, letting my power flow freely. "Here to try to stop me too?" She laughed, the sound brittle and cold. "Stop you? Oh no, dear sister. I'm here to watch you fail. The Shadow Lords send their regards, by the way. They're so looking forward to breaking you." Her words confirmed what I'd suspected - she'd been working with them all along. But instead of fear or anger, I felt something like pity.

It is in my mind. This almost seems like a dream. But this doesn’t seem right. I can’t rely on this woman, but what can I do? “No,” I say in my head, refusing to act without actually understanding what I’m doing. “Hesitate any longer, and it will be your undoing,” she says. “You are her, aren’t you. You are Lamashtu.” She moves with a confidence that makes the air bend around her, her attention fixed entirely on me, and when she reaches the side of the altar, she leans in slightly. “Lamashtu? No. She is my sister. My shadow. My other half. My twin.”
