Price Of Pryce

Price Of Pryce

Cassie answered and went to sit on the couch, and I tried to look around the room to find a clock but failed. "What? What time is it? You are damn early. It's still lunchtime... I guess. Isn't it, babe?" My mate asked her cousin, and she turned to me to ask for the time. Do I look like I have been carrying a clock with me? She was the one who was so... We both were so fond of just being together, and we overlooked the time passed by so quickly. But honestly, earlier was like so so so damn great in any other way. It was paradise. Damn, I still feel some churns in my stomach, remembering it. And I would love us to do something like that again and again and again, yeah.

The 100th Time's the Charm

The 100th Time's the Charm

"Carry her like a princess! Lock them in the dark room—don't come out for an hour! Hope you two finally make your dream come true!" Then some random girl chimed in, all snarky: "Who's 1874? Some insurance guy? Ugh, hang up." Click. End of call. Pain punched me in the chest. She saved me as '1874'—just the last four digits of my number. Meanwhile, my phone screen still flashed "Sweetheart." God, what a joke. I had work to finish, thought about staying late—but I couldn't focus. So I headed home.

The Impostor's Time Is Over

The Impostor's Time Is Over

Don't let them misunderstand me further! "We're family, and family sticks together to defend against outsiders like her!" So, Justin only thought of us as family when the barrel of the gun was pointed at him. He'd never said such a thing when Mom and Dad weren't around. I lifted a finger and pointed to the corner of the hall. "Justin, might I remind you that there's a camera over there. Everything you said and did to me earlier has all been recorded. "Would you now like to consider telling my parents the truth about what went down just now?"

To Live In Our Separate Worlds

To Live In Our Separate Worlds

“Noah, don’t blame Ginny. Maybe she thinks we’re too close.” I looked at Noah and spoke in a voice so soft it was nearly inaudible, “Do you really think I’m that kind of person?” Noah opened his mouth, but before he could say something, the acrid smell of smoke assaulted us. “Fire!” Tongues of flame sprang up. “Follow me!” Noah grabbed my wrist, but he suddenly let go again. He looked past me at Yvonne, who was curled up on the floor. In that instant, it was as if time stopped.

The Cold ones. Part 1, In two worlds.

The Cold ones. Part 1, In two worlds.

Anyone would think they were sixteen again and this was their first date! I had made myself a quick sandwich and led on the couch with one of my favourite books, The Thorn birds. With nothing but the grandfather clock ticking away, I started to imagine the life of the Cleary family as I got lost with each written word. Taking the book with me, every time I left the warmth of the couch to feast on yet another snack or use the bathroom.

A Time for Strength

A Time for Strength

—Flashback— “Bronx, there’s a monster in my closet. Maybe it’s a witch.” I peek into his room. He’s reading a book. I bet it doesn’t have pictures. He says books with pictures are little kid books. I like books with pictures though. Maybe when I’m ten like him, I won’t like picture books anymore? That sounds boring. I’ll like picture books forever. “There’s no monster or witch in your closet.” He keeps reading. “It’s your imagination.”

Nancy
I thought this was a great book. It was interesting to read the perspectives of other characters, allowing us to see what they knew and when. My only complaint is a seemingly awkward ending. Does anyone know if the author is ok?

31 Chapters 07/13/23 Yesssss Sugar Mama, you've got my attention. Love a baddie, strong female with a saucy attitude. I was so tired of these weak little damsels who need big Zaddy Alpha to save them. I was horny throughout FL scenes. Thank you for that.

At Break Time

At Break Time

The clock seems to freeze the hands when we most want the hours to pass quickly. On the table in the refectory, the book I left marked on page 52. I resist reading it a little, after all, if I finish reading it quickly I won't have any distractions afterwards. But on the positive side, maybe Peter wakes up soon and there's no 'after' in this hospital, right? I ignore my daydreams and take the book in my hands again. Time to find out if the kidnapped little Clara will be found soon or not. “Ending the letter out loud under the watchful eyes of Lucas and my friends was not embarrassing, simply because everyone there already knew everything that had happened. Even the afternoon of the sex menti

The Tale Not Old As Time

The Tale Not Old As Time

Sixty-Four After dinner, they cleaned up together, a simple act that brought them closer. As they washed the dishes, their conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and shared dreams. Later, they curled up on the couch, each holding a glass of wine. The soft glow of the fireplace created a warm and inviting atmosphere. As they sipped their wine, they talked about their hopes and aspirations. Florence shared her dream of opening a school for children with disabilities, while Chaos spoke of his plans for his company. Their conversation was a beautiful blend of dreams and reality, a testament to the power of human connection.

It's Time to Fight Back

It's Time to Fight Back

Taking a deep breath, I shouted loudly, "Open the door! Didn't you tell me to get my ass back here, Gordon? Well, here I am! Open the door now! "Are you too scared to speak or come out? You're such a coward! You're a pathetic bastard!" No matter how loudly I shouted, the doors and windows remained tightly shut. But judging by the light streaming through the cracks, someone was definitely inside. Fuming, I banged on the door even harder. It wasn't that late. In the countryside, this was the prime time for families to relax after dinner. People normally watched TV while chatting away in the living room at this hour.
