SCARLETT “We’re doing inventory for the new makeup stock Fenty Beauty sent over, you should come by and restock your eyeshadow palettes,” a makeup intern told me as she watched me struggle to scrape the non existent purple eyeshadow unto a model’s face. “Uh, when’s that?” as soon as the question left my lips, the door of the makeup studio was flung open and everyone’s attention turned to it. Not to mention she spent hours practicing it out on the weekends when she hit the clubs. Even though I don’t wear any makeup, I did think this was a little cute and somewhat badass. My lips were coated with a peachy nude gloss that added a natural shine. The foundation was light and smooth, letting my skin’s warmth glow through. Overall, the makeup looked simple, natural, and completely flawless.

I put that under her eyes and partially on her eyelid to give her a cat eye. Then I just put a black mascara on her lashes to make them longer. I applied a clear lip gloss and smiled, “Now look.”

Now it was her escape. Without thinking much. She pushed open the door and entered. Same place, still well kept after all these years. Two small rooms, just enough for a queen bed, a small living space, and a faint smell of old memories that never quite faded. Sahara sprawled on the couch in the mini living room and sighed wearily. She said. After the dress was on, I was led to a chair where the final touches were applied. A makeup artist worked her magic, using subtle tones to accentuate my natural features. My eyes were framed with soft, smoky eyeshadow that made my dark brown eyes look even more intense. A sweep of highlighter along my cheekbones added a subtle glow, while my lips were painted a soft nude pink, giving them a natural but fuller appearance.
