"You don't seem like yourself right now. We'd normally be talking and laughing by now when studying together. What's wrong?"
I stared down at the book, feeling heat prickle along the back of my neck. "Nothing," I mumbled. "I'm fine, really."
"No, I'm not going to accept that," she stated. "You're clearly bothered by something. Just talk to me, babe."
I squeezed my eyes shut, raking a hand roughly through my hair as I struggled to find the right words. How could I admit this petty insecurity without sounding like a total psycho?
"Okay, okay..." I finally sighed, lifting my gaze to meet her warm hazel eyes. "Yes, I'll be honest. I'm...I'm totally jealous right now, Ella."
