Luna continued, "It promises that the life being lived belongs to the one living it."
Maeve closed her eyes. For someone who had spent centuries trying to erase ownership from identity, the words seemed to strike a particularly painful chord. Tomas touched her hand. She didn't pull away.
Another page turned, this one filled with images. A map. Luna frowned. Darius moved beside her. "Is that our continent?"
"Part of it." Several symbols were marked across the map: Blackwood, the northern mountain, the House of Silence, Greyhaven, and dozens of places they'd never visited. Aurora pointed toward the eastern coast. "What are those?"
