I nodded in agreement and continued to look over the map. To the East of the continent was a place called Nahas'fa, led by a King named Soopian. I wondered if these were the same Green Draygons that were to be blamed for the Hars. Beyond that was the Goorian ocean that connected this continent and another one. It held the Kingdoms of Cariissan: Black Draygons, Shonian: Red Draygons, and Vroo: Yellow Draygons. And underneath each Kingdom was the name of their rulers.

Pointy ears stuck out of their strangely coloured hair, but what really caught Freya's attention was their eyes. It was a sharp blue colour, unlike any she had ever seen. The male faerie pulled back and his hard expression softened. "Forgive us, Freya." He apologized in the deepest voice ever. "We do not condone trespassers in our territory." "Of course." Freya nodded. "I would do the same if I were you." "My name is Soren, commander of the fae army." Soren nodded slightly, and then he gestured to the female faerie beside him. She hands me a mug, then leans over my shoulder to glance at the nearest map. It’s hand-drawn and annotated in red ink. A twisting series of old fae trails, former cryptid paths, and arcane bleed lines that haven’t been stable in over a century. “Tell me what you’ve got there,” she says. She’s already well versed in my obsession with the arcane and finding proof of Fae living in these woods before, so I don’t need to start with why I have these maps. To prepare for her journey, she found out that the path to their realm is accessible through portals. There are other easier ways, of course, but Nari wasn't aware of them. Aya cleaned the wound, wrapped it with brew, and drew small circles with powdered chalk until the air felt safer. Fenrir hummed in my chest, a low, watchful animal, unsettled by the shard’s aftertaste. He tuned to the room and settled only when Aya laid the last rune. I watched the river move past the window like a slow pulse and thought of the ruin and the way the men had moved as if pulled by strings. Keira’s scream nested in that memory like a hook. “We have a map,” I said finally. “Hollow Oak, a furnace, a sigil. It called and it bound.”

"And this. That's Emberdeep. It hasn't even cracked yet." Zara looked at her daughter. "You're showing us where to go. Where to fix it."

I swirled my finger again, closing the portal. Theo chuckled in understanding. "That's why you needed to map them. To name them." I blushed, but nodded. "This one is called Home Gate." I turned on one of the monitors beside the cabinet. A electronic gridded map system blinked to life, blue dots over all of the portals I'd mapped across between Sparrow Falls and Santa Feia, with Gens help, and the names appearing when pressed. "They should be easy to remember, I tried to keep them simple and to the area."
