The moonlight filtered through the forest, casting its glow onto an ancient manor. Andrew sat in a large leather chair, his fingers gently tapping on the wooden armrest. The ruins shook, stones cracking, the ground splitting as dozens of shadow-creatures erupted from the earth — wolves made of smoke and gold-eyed beasts with claws like sickles. The shadow’s voice rang out like thunder. “Survive until moonset, and we will speak again. Fail—”

Before he could press further, a commotion ahead caught their attention. A crowd had gathered around a small raised platform where a shadow puppet performance was underway. The distinct chatter of excited voices and occasional bursts of laughter drew them forward. "Perhaps a distraction is what you need," Nyxios suggested, guiding his friend toward the gathering. The puppeteers were two dark elves with exceptional control over shadow magic. They created an elaborate scene using nothing but darkness shaped by their nimble fingers. Unlike traditional puppet shows, these shadow manipulators could create three-dimensional figures that moved with lifelike precision.
