My Dangerous Hybrid

My Dangerous Hybrid

I looked at my stupid alarm wondering why it hadn't woken me up earlier, and then ,i remembered I had actually spoilt it the last time it rang by hitting it so hard. It's been three days now , three days since that incident, since I got lost in the Forest and met him , for the first two days I kept thinking about him and his words , I think he's right ,I should have been greatful instead of being so scared of him or hurting him with my words ,but after the third day ,I decided to forget all about him . It isn't like we would meet again another day . When I was seven ,my grand mother had told me stories of the blood pack and made me believe they were the most dangerous, not only that , the mos

Dangerous Attraction

Dangerous Attraction

She started explaining the whole situation to them and they all were listening carefully as she knew the most among all of them and even her predictions were right every time. "...But he liked that lie that he was living in, and unexpectedly he was ready to give up anything to just stay in that illusion. He framed a new lie to comfort himself that he was doing that right thing and I was wrong, it was me who did all the bad things and Sam was the victim." They all were shocked to the core after hearing all that and were disgusted by how much of a delusional person Noah was.

In the Shadow of Lies

In the Shadow of Lies

But now, Andrew suddenly couldn't understand her. His phone buzzed. He received two video clips that I had anonymously sent to Mathias. Andrew clicked on the videos, which were from the hospital stairwell and the lounge. As the videos played, Andrew's heart sank. A cloud of darkness enveloped his eyes. He turned to look at Daisy, whose face was filled with panic, and his voice turned cold, devoid of any warmth. "Do you have something you want to explain, Daisy?" Andrew never expected that his innocent and kind first love would be capable of such malicious actions. She actually harmed his wife and even caused the death of his child.

Broken Bonds: Beyond Destiny

Broken Bonds: Beyond Destiny

His eyes, so close, seemed to search behind my own for a secret I wasn’t ready to share. The silence grew dense. I could hear his heartbeat —steady and strong— while mine raced wildly. “If something’s worrying you,” he murmured, “I want to know.” It was the perfect opening to confess everything: that I had found Dante’s dagger, that fear was devouring me. I opened my mouth… and closed it again. Images of Bright’s wounded expression, of his anger if he misunderstood, paralyzed me. “Really, it’s just been a strange day,” I lied.

The Mafia’s Exclusive Stripper

The Mafia’s Exclusive Stripper

I shot at her. “Your love life is a mess and the one chance you got at loving you had to love a man as dangerous as him and now your life is a fucking movie.” She teased and I rolled my eyes. “Very funny Alesha, Very funny.” I answered. “I really don’t know what to say, Damian Gray is a really dangerous man but from everything you’ve been telling me, even a blind man can see that he loves you and he’s only scared of commitment.” She started and I only listened.

Tangled In Bed With My Boss

Tangled In Bed With My Boss

“You can't just quit.” “Watch me.” “It'll be too dangerous.” “Dangerous?” I spat. I took a step toward him. For once, I wanted him to hear every ugly thing sitting in my chest. “Right now, there is nothing more dangerous than you.” His face hardened. I didn't care. “You lied to me.” “I had reasons—” “You always have reasons.” My voice echoed across the driveway. “You lie. You manipulate. You make decisions for everyone and then act like you're doing them a favor.”

A LIE SO BEAUTIFUL

A LIE SO BEAUTIFUL

she said. She leaned in and continued, “Out of all the Cooper extended brothers, the man I fear the most is Damian. He’s ruthless and dangerous…he’s practically the king of shady dirty money.” “What do I do now?” I asked. “Janelle, as much as I hate to say this…you have no choice. Accept it.” She said and I was shocked. Even brave Ashley suggested I accept a death contract? The couple interrupted us. “Good morning ladies,” the man said, and we greeted with a lowered bow.

Ashes Of His Regret

Ashes Of His Regret

'Billionaire's Ex-Wife and His Rival: Inside the Revenge Plot That Could Derail the Most Anticipated Sentencing of the Year. Damien is already awake beside me. He doesn't sleep much when something is in motion, I've learned this about him. He lies still and looks like he's resting but his mind never stops. Right now he's watching me read, waiting. "How bad is it?" he asks. "It's precise," I say. "That's what makes it bad. They didn't fabricate anything. They just assembled the truth into a shape that looks like something else." He reaches over and takes the phone from my hand. Reads. His jaw tightens once just once and then he sets it face down on the nightstand.

DANGEROUS LOVE

DANGEROUS LOVE

Azhael's voice cut through the silence, calm and almost pleasant, the kind of tone that made the words far more dangerous than if he'd shouted them. A figure lurched out from the shadows a half-second too late, and *flinched* the instant Azhael's gun pressed flat against the side of his head. "Who sent you?" "No one...." *Sweating, trembling, the lie sitting badly on his tongue.* A second shape stepped out of the dark behind them both, unhurried, hands tucked into his coat pockets. "Wrong answer." *Elison's voice, flat and final, followed by a single gunshot.*

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone who calls 'Dangerous Lies' a slow burn is glossing over its biggest structural flaw. The initial hook works, I’ll admit that much; you get pulled right into the protagonist’s predicament. But the middle section feels like wading through a swamp of repetitive inner monologue about trust and paranoia. The story keeps circling the same doubts without revealing anything new, which smothers the suspense instead of building it.

I found myself skimming pages waiting for the next genuine clue or confrontation. The climax, when it finally comes, is admittedly well-executed and tense, but the journey there is uneven. It suffers from what I call ‘suspension bridge syndrome’—great supports at the start and end, but a sagging, less stable middle that makes you question the entire crossing.

The pacing doesn't ruin the book, but it definitely makes it feel longer than it is. A tighter edit on those middle chapters would have transformed it from a decent thriller into a truly gripping one. I still finished it, but the lag made the final payoff feel slightly diminished.
