Sweet Dreams
The posture should look relaxed but It doesn’t, Even the way his shoulders settle into the chair looks calculated, like he’s adjusting the pieces of a chessboard only he can see.
“I didn’t say believe,”He replies calmly as his gaze drifts over my face again, his eyes thoughtful and observant.
“I said I wondered how long it would take you to notice.”He says again confirming his words and a strange flicker crawls along the back of my neck.
I ignore it.
Instead, I cross one leg over the other, forcing myself into the same composed posture I use when interviewing violent offenders who enjoy intimidation games.
I might be losing this psychological battle but I would never let him think it’s that
