For some reason, they think that living in fear and constant movement is better than what humans have under the dome. The New Invictus City was built by a bunch of Royal Vampires claiming they were going to change the world and make it better. Invictus means "unconquerable" or "undefeated," and the Vampires are incredibly proud of that. Ironically, their city is hidden, protected by high walls - shielded from everyone. I shouldn’t even be surprised; my life has never been any different. No. That’s a lie. My life was different at Invictus. Everyone there gave me space and time. Let me do things my way at my own pace. My life was peaceful there. Invictus was my sanctuary that protected me from everything dark and cruel in this world, and as soon as I was taken away from it, it was like every ounce of cruelty the world has to offer was waiting for me on the other side and didn’t hesitate to swallow me whole.
