“I’m not coming in your mouth. Not this time.” He grabbed her by the arms, pulling her to her feet. Her legs were shaky, and she stumbled against him. He held her up easily, his strength immense. He spun her around, pressing her face-first against the cool window of the train car. The dark landscape rushed by outside, a blur of shadows and distant lights. Her breasts were flattened against the glass, the cold a shocking contrast to her heated skin. He kicked her feet apart with his own, widening her stance, leaving her completely exposed and vulnerable from behind.

I screamed. He shook his head violently. “I can’t… We’ll die! The train’s too close!” “Drive through it or we’re dead anyway!” I pressed the gun harder into his skull. “Move!” But instinct, damn it, instinct betrayed me. He slammed the brakes, tires screaming as the cab lurched forward then halted just before the tracks. The train thundered past… massive, relentless, just inches from our bumper. The wind slammed against the car, rattling the frame.

They followed, but more came, replacing them. A Vestarian caught her by the arm with his dirty fingers. She chopped them away. Another pulled at her. More surrounded her. She nailed one in the head and he went down with a thud. The train elevated off its magnetic rails before her. The coil engines started to power up, lifting the train off its magnetic tracks.

The woman climbed out, jumping to the ground as she grasped the baby to her chest. "Run! Run!" Olivia yelled, pushing the woman and child away from the trains. She took off as fast as she could. More people were exiting and rushing away from the trains. Olivia tried to help those climbing out of their windows, but there just wasn't enough time. She felt the explosion before she heard it. The heat of the blast pulsed around them and Olivia fell to the ground, her face crashing into the gravel of the train yard. The first mortar missed the train car in front of her, but the second one hit the front of the car, throwing bodies and metal through the yard.

She did not seem tired in the slightest even after the intense battle. When the train's speed picked up, Adrian honked a few times, and the train burst out of the tunnel. Since the gate was open just large enough for the train to pass through, the monsters on the roof collided with the gate, resulting in a gruesome scene. Adrian continued to sound the horn as the train sped away, and Rozi jumped off the tracks, grabbing onto one of the train carriages that was passing through. The train knocked aside several monsters on the tracks and exited the tunnel.

“I-I-I will do as you say. Please… please don’t—” A cold paralysis struck my body as I heard several gunshots. For a few seconds, I went completely numb, as if all those bullets had blasted through me. All I wanted to do at that moment was sprint to her, but I froze. No matter how hard I tried, my body wouldn’t move until… Father squatted before me. The phone screen showed the ceiling of the train. It seemed as though bits of blood and flesh had splattered on the camera. Panic-stricken passengers entered and exited the frame, screaming and ducking.

Bullets pinged off The Beast's rusted armor. "Heads down!" Marcus yelled, swerving slightly to dodge the fire. "Gary! Lights!" Jack screamed into his comms. CLICK. The tunnel plunged into absolute darkness. The guards stopped firing, blinded. "Now, Marcus! Ram speed!" Marcus floored it. The Beast slammed into the rear bumper of the Ghost Train with a bone-jarring crash. Magnetic locks engaged. "We're attached!" Ben yelled, checking his tablet. "Go! Go! Go!" Jack ordered. They climbed out of the cart, jumping onto the rear platform of the train. Jack used his crutch to vault over the railing. Marcus tackled a blinded guard, throwing him over the side.

Metal shrieked against metal. The first carriage jumped the tracks. Soldiers were thrown through the air. The rear carriages collided with one another. I clung to a metal bar. Elaine and her chair came completely loose and slid toward the side door. The door tore away. Elaine vanished over the edge. I grabbed one of the chair’s chains. Her body hung outside the moving train, sparks bursting against the metal as she screamed. For one moment, her life depended entirely on my hand. I smiled down at her.

Marco grabbed Damien’s arm. Aldo pulled Sebastian aboard. The instant they crossed onto the train… The tunnel behind them disappeared beneath thousands of tons of rock. The platform shook violently. Samuel slammed his fist onto the control console. “Go!” The underground train lurched forward. Steel wheels screamed against the tracks as it accelerated into the darkness. No one spoke. Everyone watched through the rear window. The western platform vanished beneath a wall of dust. Seconds later… A deafening roar echoed through the tunnels. Helix Summit was collapsing.

Athena gasped, her hand instinctively covering her mouth as she saw Michael being hit. Despite the pain, Michael mustered the strength to move forward, confronting Derick once again. Another gunshot reverberated through the train, but Michael skillfully avoided it, using his shoulder to push Derick into a pole. Derick winced in pain, his grip on the gun loosening again. Using his elbow, Derick hit back, landing multiple blows on Michael's back. "Athena, run!" Michael shouted again. This time, Athena seized the opportunity and fled. A few steps later, she heard yet another gunshot. She turned her head to look back, her face pale with terror, only to see Derick still standing on the train.
