She stopped for a bit and turned to them. Due to her parents accident seventeen years ago, she became more brave and stronger. She doesn’t want anyone to bully her, nor being the laughing stock in the campus. That’s why she becomes invisible in their eyes. However, just because of what the so called ‘queen of the campus’ said, everyone knows her now.

The way she looked around like she wanted somewhere to disappear. Mr. Barnes smiled, completely oblivious. “Come on down, Ella!” More laughter. My jaw clenched. Hard. Ella slowly stood. It all started one day when I trusted someone. I’ve always been invisible, and it was way better before I became a victim of bullying. I was a nobody. Most of you might think that students who wore glasses and quiet most of the time were intelligent. For me, that wasn't the case. I am dumb in all subjects. My grades were unbearable. I've been doing my best to improve, but I never did. When I reached 10th grade, being dumb and invisible was fine. I have gotten used to it. Not until a friend of mine betrayed me. I thought she was real. I treated her as one. She was the only friend I had.

It then next displayed when I bought my house and lived alone ever since. "It's not fair!" I whispered, tears squeezing out of my eyes. "It's the world, Becca. Black might be your brightest colour. Bullying might shield you from hurt, turns out hurt is your only lover." She whispered, too, nowhere to be seen. My mind flashed, invisible lights in the room flickering, dimming, the walls closing. What was happening? "Are you sure?" I heard her ask. "Sure of what? What's happening?" "Isn't there anyone who can turn your tables. Didn't you meet a certain him that made you feel different, alive? Loved?"

I didn’t fight them with words—why fight shadows with a flashlight? I became darker than their darkness. I turned my eyes into stone. My mouth into a blade. They bumped into me—I didn’t move. They whispered—I smiled. The kind of smile that says, Try me again and I’ll bury you in your own cruelty. I gave them nothing to feed on. No tears. No anger. Just a girl they couldn’t get a reaction from. And slowly, their cruelty ran dry. Because bullies don’t know what to do when their punches land on steel.

Just let it out and get it over with,” I responded in a cocky tone, sounding uninterested in whatever she had to say.
