Iron Flame Chapter 48 Novels & Stories

The stone tablet trembled as a scorching golden fire pillar descended from above, enveloping Chase in its blazing embrace. In an instant, his body felt as though it were being torn apart. The fire's extreme heat bypassed his true essence armor, blistering his skin and leaving small, painful burns. "Get out of my way!" he roared, summoning his energy to resist the fiery onslaught. A thunderous explosion echoed as Chase stood defiant in the fire's searing grasp. His body trembled, and blood trickled from the corners of his mouth. Not far away, two black-clad figures stood tall, wielding dark halberds with an air of menace.

Lyra and Darius screamed in unison, voices merging into one pathetic wail. Dark liquid splattered across the dirt like spilled ink—harmless now that the container was broken. They looked absolutely horrified, as if I had just smashed their last lifeline. I ignored them completely. I lifted my hand, palm facing the broken pieces. Heat curled around my fingers—warm, familiar, powerful. Silver flames bloomed from my skin like living fire, sweeping down in a controlled wave toward the shattered vial. The world lit up in silver. The flames devoured the remnants, burning hot enough to warp the dirt beneath it, leaving nothing but melted ash and scorched earth behind.

By blood remembered, By bond unbroken, By breath denied and breath reclaimed… The flames shuddered, surging violently outward as something deep within them had recognized the call. Let the frozen path dissolve. The ice beneath her feet groaned. Let the heart that waits be called back. Let the soul that lingers return to flesh. The fire roared now… no longer silent, no longer contained. It climbed higher, brighter, pressing against the ceiling, its light so intense it erased all color but blue. Iris’s hands clenched around the parchment as power rushed past her, through her, threatening to tear her voice from her lungs.

"It’s turning… She’s rejected!" The Priest of the High Flame fell to his knees, his staff clattering to the marble. His eyes were wide and fixed on the swirling red flames. "This is not rejection!" he cried out, his voice cracking with terror. "The Silver Fire is under siege. The blood of the old bond…the blood of the true mate is fighting the ritual and it is calling to her from the depths of the earth!" He said horrified.

The chains shuddered. My breath caught in my throat. The fire inside me flared higher. Her certainty pulled at it, the way she didn't hesitate to face something so much bigger than herself. My flames spread over her shoulders, wrapping around her like armor, flowing into her hands where they touched the chains. Our fires joined together. The red hissed and cracked. A split appeared in one shackle. Then another. Kieran's arms jerked free an inch. His breathing got sharper. "Yes," I gasped, pushing harder. Fire screamed through my veins, but I kept going. "Break!"

Enough. I step closer and the air shifts. The nurse gasps softly as a familiar green flame begins to move from my skin. I inhale deeply, focusing on the burn deep within me. The fire that sent Wendigos fleeing. The flames that rejected their venom. The power that feels like it’s becoming something more. I reach for the warrior’s hand. And unleash it. Flames flood the room - cleansing, defiant, divine… Let the reckoning begin.

I asked myself scrolling down for an answer. If your blood is found to be mutated, you would receive a special letter later in the day with the specifics on how your blood may be rectified, the paragraph ended there. Treated? So strange is it some king of disease or viral strain the government is trying to eliminate? Suddenly, my phone rang. I didn’t bother to check on the caller’s ID when I answered it since I was so much engrossed in my reading. “DUDE, where are you?” a voice shouted in my ear that made me look at my phone from my laptop

She read: “When all is ash, You are still altar. When the house falls, Your Spirit finds shelter. When they scatter us, You gather fire from the wind.” James exhaled. No applause. No spotlight. Just peace. The kind that doesn’t come from victory. The kind that only comes from surrender. End of Chapter 15🤭 •Chapter 16 – The Fire That Walks The Ember Ground had no walls, but it echoed like a temple. For seven days straight, they gathered the children of the slum, the weary souls, the angry, the hungry, the hopeless. They came not for spectacle, but because something burned here. Something not made by man.

His eyes burned with a fervent, almost religious zeal. He reached for my face, his fingers, cold and long, extending towards me. I twisted, my bound body straining against the invisible bonds, a surge of desperate energy bursting forth. Flames, sharp and silver, erupted from my hands, arcing towards him, but he was terrifyingly fast. With a casual flick of his wrist, he deflected the fire, and then, with blinding speed, his hands shot out, catching my wrists in an iron grip, forcing me still, the last remnants of my struggle dying in a frustrated whimper.

I stretched out my arms, feeling the power rise to the surface, and then— *I let it go. A wave of fire erupted from me, a torrent of golden flames that swept across the battlefield like a tidal wave. The heat was blistering, the light blinding. I could hear the screams of Lavinia’s soldiers as the fire consumed them, their dark magic no match for the raw, unbridled force of my power. The flames moved with precision, sparing my allies while eradicating the enemy. It was as though the fire *knew* what needed to be done, who needed to be protected.
