A flash of golden-red flame exploded from my hand, and instantly died. The Void-Iron armor didn't catch fire. It didn't even heat up. The dark metal sucked the flame straight out of my palm like water down a drain, glowing a faint, angry purple for half a second before dulling back to ash-gray. A cold dread settled in my gut; if fire couldn't touch these things, I had no idea what could. The guard didn't even flinch. It drove its heavy iron knee straight up into my ribs. CRACK.

“I do.” Lerder blinked. “Elara—” “I’ve run from it long enough.” She looked at Mor. “You said you are my better self. That you’re what I was afraid to become.” Mor nodded. “I am your truth.” Elara smiled sadly. “Then let the flame decide which truth deserves to burn.” Trial of Two Flames The sky cracked. Both women lifted their hands. The flame descended. Into their palms, and the world exploded in light. Inside the flame, Elara’s feet touched nothing. She floated through memory—hers and Mor’s, but indistinguishable now.

My voice cracked, pleading for her to understand. But Lily, my dearest friend, cowered away from me, her eyes filled with fear and loathing. "Don't let her touch me!" she wailed, pretending to be in agony. "It burns, it burns whenever she comes near!" I felt the ropes tighten around my wrists as the pack members surrounded me, their eyes cold and unyielding. "No!" I struggled, my voice hoarse. "You have it all wrong! Please, just listen to me!"

“But this isn’t the last time, Olivia. Not by a long shot. I’m nowhere near done with you tonight.” Her small, satisfied smile and the way she curled closer into my chest, legs wrapping around me, told me she felt the same burning, forbidden heat. We lay there panting together, bodies slick and spent,my cum still dripping out of her as I held her tight—stepbrother and stepsister, tangled in the best kind of sin.

A flicker passed through the air. Not shock. Not fear. Understanding. “There are no divisions.” “No structure.” “No protection.” The ground beneath them trembled slightly. “The last one standing will be the victor.” Another pause. “And the victor will be granted one wish.” Silence returned. Heavy. Absolute. Then one final word. “Begin.” Everything shattered. Power erupted in every direction at once. The ground split apart as one of the devils launched forward instantly, striking toward the nearest angel with explosive force. Light clashed against darkness, sending a shockwave through the battlefield that fractured the floating terrain even further.

But that can’t be right because this belongs to my mother and she’s a by the rule witch and would never experiment with this kind of stuff. “Come start me a fire you little pyro” he said breaking my concentration. “You’re right there is some weird stuff in here” I told him. “I know, light me a fire and I’ll show you the weirdest part I found.” He said. Tyler and I head to the fire pit. I throw some small branches and medium size logs into the fire pit and snap my fingers. The wood catches immediately. “That is freaking awesome” he clapped his hands together “You can finally come home!”

My body felt like it was rusted solid, but I clenched Nicole's hand tighter. From then on, we only had each other. I locked eyes with Simon one last time, finding nothing but emptiness. "I'm sorry for the trouble," I said to the onlookers. I nodded politely, straightened up, and walked out with slow, measured steps. Nicole did not fight me then. Instead, she whispered, "Mom, what about our stuff?" I shook my head and said, "Let's pretend it all went up in flames." Options were slim in the middle of the night, so I booked us into a motel.

A figure steps though the flames, his eyes black and locked on me. I keep chanting as the bed I’m standing on fades away and I’m floating in a ball of fire and flames. “This is a most dazzling trick my love” the man who’s soon to perish says with a slither in his voice. The sky turns dark and the flames die down just enough and I see Carter held by Cornelius by the silver chain around his neck. Carters eyes are duel in contrast to they’re usual vibrant color. “Baby” he whispers. I feel myself lower and the heat from the flames start to cool as I watch Carters eyes close.

*** James The sound of my heartbeat hammered in my chest, each beat a violent, relentless thrum that threatened to deafen me as I pushed through the choking smoke. My eyes burned, but they were fixed—locked—on Katniss. There, in the center of the inferno, her body motionless, consumed by flames that seemed to have a mind of their own. The fire wasn’t just destroying the house; it was alive, vicious, almost as if it were taking revenge, as if it had been waiting for this moment. The orange and red tongues of flame reached hungrily, devouring everything they could touch, twisting and flicking in every direction, daring anyone to come close. But none of that mattered. All that mattered was her.

“It’s… speaking to me.” He glanced at the hearth, then back at me. “The flame?” “I heard her,” I said, my voice shaking. “A woman. She sounded angry—no, not angry. Sad.” Damon crossed the room and gently took my hands. “You’re tired. The flame reacts to emotion, remember? Fear can twist it.” But he didn’t sound fully convinced. His eyes darted to the fire, watching it carefully. For a second, the golden light flickered in his reflection, as if the flame was alive inside both of us.
