Ronan's Point Of View

The hall had quieted again, though not from peace. This silence felt charged, like the moments before a thunderstorm breaks the skies in half.

I could feel their stares on us.

The professors from both academies sat in their velvet chairs, blank-faced and unmoving, but their auras flared with interest. The crowd, which had once cheered like savages for Miles and Alisa, now fell into a hush laced with curiosity and anticipation.

They wanted a show.

And I intended to give them one.

I glanced sideways at Zane.

He stood beside me, jaw tight, eyes flickering with nerves that he tried hard to mask. But I could sense everything… every tremor, every flicker of doubt, through the link that pulsed between us like a golden tether laced with fire.

I leaned toward him slightly, voice a mere breath above silence. “Close your eyes,” I murmured, “Just follow me.”

He didn’t argue.

That’s what shocked me the most.

His lashes fell, his breath slowed, and for a moment, just a brief,

Zane's Point Of View “Tonight’s Ball Star is…”Elaris Mavellen’s voice rang out across the grand ballroom like a bell cutting through fog.The entire space went silent.Utterly.Completely.It was a stillness I could feel, a trembling hush suspended in magic and disbelief. My breath hitched. My chest felt too tight. The blood in my ears thundered like an army marching toward my heart. Then… “ZANE!”The sound of my name exploded across the hall like lightning cracking the sky in half. For a moment, I couldn’t move. What? My name… my name was echoed in magic and light, repeated by the crowd, stamped into the very air. Spotlights beamed down, searing warmth into my skin. Golden-silver magic curled around my arms and waist like threads of destiny.I blinked.Wide-eyed. Disbelieving. My knees threatened to give way.Was this… real?“Zane,” Elaris said, her voice gentler now, but no less powerful, “step forward.”I did.Not because I felt confident. Not because I felt worthy. I stepped for

Zane's Point Of View I stood there, still and small beneath the weight of a hundred watching eyes. The music swelled, dimming the sounds of laughter and chatter, but not the pressure digging into my chest like a tight thread threatening to snap. I watched Miles and Alisa. Annoyance pricked beneath my skin like needles. Why did Miles bring me into this at all if he was going to stand there like a perfect, sculpted doll and let her hang onto him like that? Why even say those things if he was going to let her shoo me away like I didn’t matter? Was I supposed to stand there and smile? Watch him twirl around the floor with her like I was just another spectator? I took a step back, heart beating in my ears. That’s enough. I was just about to turn away, to escape before someone noticed how pathetic I looked standing alone at the edge of a fairytale, when, a firm, warm grip closed around my wrist. I turned sharply. Ronan. “Come with me.” He said gently. I blinked. “What?”

Miles Point Of ViewThe ballroom gleamed. The chandeliers suspended above dripped with diamond-like crystals, casting fractured glints of light across the polished marble floor. Students from both the human and werewolf academies flowed in like two elegant rivers destined to never meet, one bathed in soft silks and gentle pastels, the other in sharp tailoring and darker palettes that shimmered like moonlight on a blade’s edge.I stood near the entrance of the human academy’s section, one gloved hand resting against the ivory railing that separated the upper balcony from the main dance floor. From here, I could see everything. And then… they arrived. The grand doors opened with a hush of reverence, and Zane stepped inside, his arm looped with Ronan’s. For a moment, the light seemed to pause, lingering on them like a spotlight. Ronan, in a custom black suit adorned with rare black pearls that shimmered like captured shadows, walked with a regal indifference, as if the air parted for him

Zane's Point Of ViewI stood there, still pressed against Ronan. Even as Miles' carriage rolled into the distance and the whispers started to rise again, I could feel it.The weight of a hundred eyes, the sharp bite of unspoken words ready to spit doubt and mockery back in my face. One student.. tall, smug, lips already curling, stepped forward like he was about to say something. But then… Ronan turned, he didn’t speak. He didn’t growl. He simply looked.Golden eyes, cold and sharp like forged blades in winter, swept across the crowd. And the moment they met his gaze… Silence.Absolute.The boy swallowed his words, face paling. He backed up without a sound, like every bone in his body suddenly remembered what fear felt like. The others followed, the air tightening around us like a noose no one dared pull. No one said anything. No one dared. My heart pounded in my chest, my hand twitching slightly in Ronan’s.“…You didn’t have to say all that,” I murmured quietly, looking up at him.H

Zane's Point Of View “Then again,” Alisa continued, turning her full focus on Miles, “some of us do have our partners already picked out.”She walked… no, glided across the cobblestone steps until she stood directly in front of him.“Miles,” she said sweetly, her voice sugary poison. “You’re looking radiant tonight.”Miles glanced at her with an unreadable smile. “You’re early.”“I was eager,” she replied with a smirk. “Wouldn’t want to miss the show.”They looked like a perfect pair.Miles stood tall, dignified, calm like always, and Alisa clung to his arm with practiced elegance. Her gown shimmered under the twilight, blue silk catching every glint of the lanterns overhead. They matched in color and posture, their auras blending like they’d been rehearsing this for weeks.Someone whispered behind me.“They look so good together…”“Are they… dating?”“They’d make sense, right? Top student and top heiress.”The comments grew, each one carving a little deeper into my confidence. But A
