Ronan's Point Of View

The hall had quieted again, though not from peace. This silence felt charged, like the moments before a thunderstorm breaks the skies in half.

I could feel their stares on us.

The professors from both academies sat in their velvet chairs, blank-faced and unmoving, but their auras flared with interest. The crowd, which had once cheered like savages for Miles and Alisa, now fell into a hush laced with curiosity and anticipation.

They wanted a show.

And I intended to give the

your story moves too fast. this all should have been in 50 chapters. it's too short and we don't really emotionally relate with the characters. especially zane. you elongate a few things and the story will be beautifully written

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    369~ We Fight To The Last Breath

The air in the Elven Highlands tasted of burnt resin and ozone. High up on the white granite towers of the Alliance Citadel, the stone groaned under the stress of a hundred wind-currents clashing at once. Below the ridge, the pine forests that had stood for six centuries lay reduced to blackened stumps, smoking in the unnatural cold that had rolled down from the weeping sky. The smell of ash clung to everything, seeping into cloaks and armor alike, a bitter reminder of how much had already been lost. General Kaelen pulled the braided leather string of his longbow back until it pressed against the corner of his jaw. Three silver arrows, tipped with holy light spells that hummed like trapped bees, sat notched across his knuckles. His arms ached from hours of held tension, but he did not let it show. Two hundred lives depended on his steadiness. "Hold your drawn breath," Kaelen shouted down the line of two hundred high elf archers lined along the battlements. His voice was sharp, cutt

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    368~ They Consume Raw Mana

The sun didn't set. It disintegrated. Across the full expanse of the Eastern Border Wall, the clear blue sky split open like a dying fruit, bruised purple turning in seconds to a deep, sickly crimson. It was a thick, unnatural red that cast no warmth, bleeding through the clouds until the surrounding mountain peaks looked as though they were dripping with fresh gore. Soldiers who had marched for days without rest now stood frozen mid-stride, staring upward, unable to look away from the wound spreading across the heavens. Then came the cold. It hit the battlements not as a breeze, but as a solid wall of frost, snapping banners against their poles and freezing the sweat on the necks of four thousand waiting soldiers. Somewhere below, a young recruit's teeth chattered audibly, though whether from the temperature or from dread, no one could say. Up on the high parapet, the Alpha King stood with his boots planted shoulder-width apart, his heavy steel broadsword resting point-down again

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    367~ It Smells Like A Grave

Ronan's Point Of ViewThe stink of wet copper was everywhere. It filled my nose, coated the back of my tongue, and clung to the back of my throat like liquid lead. I could taste it with every breath, thick and metallic, as if the air itself had turned to blood. I was kneeling on stone so cold it bit straight through my trousers, but I couldn't feel my knees. I couldn't feel my boots. The only thing that existed in the entire universe was the weight slumping against my breastplate, heavy and dead, like a felled tree. "Zane." My own voice didn't sound like me. It was too small, too thin, scraped raw by hours of breathing in dust and fear. I barely recognized it as belonging to a prince, a soldier, a man who had once commanded armies without his voice ever cracking. I dragged my hands up his chest. The fabric of his shirt was torn, soaked through with something dark and sticky that warmed my palms for half a second before turning slick and frigid. I hooked my fingers beneath his armp

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    366~ You Failed Your Mate

Ronan's Point Of ViewThe steady, rhythmic weight of his head against my thigh was the only thing keeping my chest moving in and out. Every shallow breath he took felt borrowed against my own lungs, as though my body had forgotten how to function without confirmation that his still did. I didn't dare shift my posture. My legs were numb, cramped from hours spent anchored to the frigid obsidian floor, but I stayed pinned to the spot, my fingers tangled in his dark, sweat-matted hair. The violet mist swirled low around us like a lazy beast, creeping over the edge of the platform, tasting the air, as if it were waiting for the right moment to strike. I hated it. I hated how patient it seemed, how it curled back the instant I glared at it, only to creep forward again the second my attention wavered. For hours, the Sigen poison had burned through his blood, running hotter than a forge. I'd sat here listening to him choke on air that wasn't there, watching his jaw clench until I thought h

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    365~ How Dare You Lay You Hands On My Mate?

Ronan's Point Of View "AAGGGHH!" That scream ripped through the canyon air and tore straight through my chest like a double-edged blade. It was Zane's voice, twisted with pain, and something primal inside me snapped the instant it reached my ears. Every nerve in my body ignited at once, as though the sound itself had reached inside my ribcage and wrenched something loose. I didn't think. I didn't breathe. Everything inside my head narrowed down to a blinding, roaring red. There was no calculation left in me, no strategy, only the desperate, animal need to reach him before the world could take him away. Distantly, I registered Dakar snarling in the back of my mind, a low, furious current beneath my own panic, but even the wolf's rage felt secondary to the single, screaming thought pounding through me: ‘Zane. Zane. Zane.’ I crossed the distance between us in a single, explosive stride, my broadsword held in a low, vicious grip. The mutated Sigen guard was still hovering over Zane,

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    364~ Stepping Into A Trap

Zane's Point Of ViewThe moment our boots crossed the threshold, the air changed - turning thick, oily, and freezing cold. BANG! Behind us, the colossal iron doors slammed shut with a thunderous boom that vibrated straight through our chest bones. The heavy sound echoed endlessly into the vast, unnatural void ahead, swallowed by a darkness that seemed to breathe. It felt as if the realm itself had inhaled us, and now held its breath, waiting. I jumped, spinning on my heel, my stolen steel blade raised before I could even think. The massive gate was completely sealed, the seam between the heavy doors fused shut as if it had never been opened in the first place. My heart hammered against my ribs, a cold dread pooling in my stomach at the sheer finality of it. There would be no clever retreat, no fallback plan. Whatever waited for us beyond this threshold, we would face it or die trying. I let out a long, slow sigh, rolling my shoulders to ease the tension in my back. "Well. No turni

  • Broken by One, Desired by All    38~ First Ash... Now Him

Zane's Point Of View I stood there, staring at him at Ronan. He was still silent. Still cold. Like nothing had just shattered between us. That mask he wore, so damn perfect. So empty. Like I hadn’t bled in front of him just moments ago. My chest burned. My fists trembled. I looked down at the ph

Zane's Point Of ViewI’m thirty. The thought burned itself into my skull, sharp and bitter.
