The power of the earth pulling into me. I scream as I am thrown upward. My back tears open and something that weighs a tonne expands out of me as I fall back down I scream, covering my face when nothing happens. I move my arms and see I’m a few feet from the ground. I look up and gasp. Two giant black feathered wings are flapping, keeping me suspended in the air. Panic grips me when they disappear and I fall, only to land in arms. “Help me!” I say before I black out.

I fold forward. Before I can fall.. His hand grabs me. Lifts me. Suddenly I'm upside down over his shoulder. Like a sack of potatoes. Or kidnapped cargo. "Let's go," Scarface grunts to the other man. "She's waiting for us." He turns to leave. But suddenly… A scream erupts behind us. And then… WHOOSH. Something flies past my upside-down view. A body. A whole grown man. Flying through the air. Like a human bird.

Aradaa looked up. Above the cliffs, the sky was no longer grey. It was black. Thousands of shapes were circling. Wings. "The Iron Kings," Aradaa whispered. The first one landed on the ledge above them. It was ten feet tall, covered in rusted armor that seemed to grow out of its skin. It carried a spear made of dragon bone. It didn't look at Kaelor. It looked at Aradaa. "The Muse," the thing rumbled. Its voice was like tectonic plates shifting.

he said as the ground underneath them opened and she was just looking at bottomless nothingness. “Shall we?” Kieran asked flames on his palm as he jumped in. She saw the wings appear on his back as he went further down. She walked closer to the edge. Peacock feathers weren’t meant for flying. Just for display, but she could glide with it and taking a step on nothing but air she was going down. The crown on her head turned to dust and appeared behind her back. It settled on her lower back and she went down gracefully. Kieran just looked at her.
