Connections that shield them, that make them stronger than any shadow I can conjure.” He paused, voice curling like smoke, almost savoring the words. “But all bonds have cracks, do they not? Weak points… moments where the heart falters. That… that is where I will strike.” A smaller subordinate shivered. “Strike at… the bonds, sir?”

he continued with his taunting. “Our network is much better than yours, so it would be easier to find his master if he stays with us, than if he is alone.” Orange Ivy couldn’t fight the urge to keep quiet, so although Black Hand prompted her to be silent she still spoke out, causing her master to sigh in resignation. “That’s enough Black Ink,” Steel Fist saw the need to interfere, and so she did. Her words were effective, for Black Ink didn’t say anything again. Suddenly a servant rushed into the hall and whispered something into Steel Fist’s ears. Her expression eased up a bit, and she announced that her Lord will be arriving soon.

My Master disappears from the room, to return a minute or so later with his briefcase and a bowl of ice cubes. Grinning wickedly, he opens the case, pointedly turning it with the lid facing back to me, so that I cannot see the contents. However, I recognise the spreader bar he produces. Quickly he shackles my ankles into the bar, spreading my legs apart so that I hover with difficulty between standing and supporting my weight on the cuffs. I am now stretched upwards, legs spread and my Master can circle me.

Shawn couldn’t understand how Isaac would put the crown on Master’s head if they were at each other’s throat right now. But the Master wasn’t bad on his own either. Even though he had the appearance of someone who would spend most of his time reading books, the Master’s movement was agile and quick. He managed to avoid all the harmful attacks that Isaac directed, moving in such a fluid movement that he didn’t appear to be fighting against Isaac. Shawn could instantly feel the big difference of power between Isaac and the Master. It couldn’t help but made him wonder if the Master had turned to the dark arts, wouldn’t he easily destroy the whole world with a flick of his fingers?

Master was a perfectionist in everything he did even down to the mode of torture he uses when somebody annoy him too much to warrant a slow death. Every recruit of the resistance watched Master's means of torture as an indoctrination ceremony so that they will know that will happen to them if they decide to betray the resistance. The kidnapper had watched someone who displeased the Master got dragged into the compound half-dead by the guard which was always with the Master's best friend who was a female.
