"Now we have a radio. You won't be bored anymore. Is this channel fine for you, husband?" Because of what the doctor said the other day, Suzie learned that her comatose husband was actually conscious. Although he looked almost dead, he was still inside there. The doctor said that a comatose patient might hear what was in his surrounding. Their hearing was what first recovered before the other senses. After learning that, Suzie got the idea to purchase a radio and let the man hear some music. She don't know if he could listen to the surroundings or not, but a little music in this silent room was a good change.

When I got there, the doctors were standing over him, and so was Becky, holding his hand. “Whats going on here?” i asked, “where the hell were you?” Becky screamed. “Maam your husband suffered a cardiac arrest, the past few hours have been very crucial and traumatic for him, we had to induce him into a coma” Dr Alonzo started. “I dont understand?” i stated, i was confused, mateo was hooked on machines as he lay unconcious on the bed. “After an extensive review of his case, your husband is going to need therapy maam, both physical and phycological therapy, he has been through a whole lot, its going to be a rough ride down the road, but we have to hold him steady” the doctor added.

I jump up in shock and cling to a nearby window blind for protection. I thought they said he’s in a coma; why is he suddenly wide awake? In panic, I observed my supposed husband on the bed; although he was wide awake, he still had the cold expression he had while in a coma. Just then, someone knocked on the door, and I rushed to open the door, eager to have another person in the room besides my vegetative husband. “I think the young master is awake; he has opened his eyes.”

Miriam’s POV “What happened after he left the house?” “I don’t know. I don’t know…what did you say happened to him?” I asked frantically. “He’s in a coma. We’re trying our best but we can’t tell you when he will wake up,” the doctor explained but I was not comprehending. “Coma? I thought he only had a leg injury? I opened my eyes as I found myself on Nolan's chest still returning to his steady heartbeat. I peered at the man who had tapped me, and I saw the doctor. I quickly got up as he began to flip through his charts checking his numbers, files, vitals. "Mrs. Clemente, I must tell you its been over a week since your husband's accident and he isn't showing any brain function, the coma isn't letting him heal". his words told me one thing, one thing I couldn't accept and definitely one I couldn't think of.

One week went by and a miracle happened to me. I woke up one morning. My family burst into tears as well as my girlfriend. They’re so happy and thankful that I finally woke up. My Doctors are still monitoring my condition and my health. Even though I woke up in a coma, my body is still so weak. I feel that I can’t breathe everytime that I speak. “Baby, your dad and I are so happy that you are finally awake. We are so afraid that we might lose you,” mom said while crying.

My heart surged, then plummeted. “However,” he said softly, “she has slipped into a coma.” The word echoed in my skull. “Coma,” I repeated, like if I said it enough times it would change. “You’re telling me my wife is in a coma.” “Yes, I'm sorry.” I sat down because my legs no longer trusted me. “She is healing,” the doctor continued. “But her mind has withdrawn. We don’t know when she will wake. Or if she will.” Two weeks.

Larissa, the woman who introduced herself to me, entered as well. The room was full before I even realized it and the man that had caused the commotion was already standing close to him. If they called him Dante, then he is my husband and a miracle has just unfolded before my eyes after three years of him being in a vegetative state. I slowly started exiting the door and I felt his eyes follow me as I slipped out of the room first. What can I say? If that man is my husband, Dante Drummond, then I would have to run for my dear life because even in his weakest point, he represented danger and savageness.

But my father needed me, and I couldn’t say no. After the ceremony, I said goodbye to my father and followed Evelyn to the Sinclair estate.
