“She said the stones listen better when they’re sung to.”
Ethan raised an eyebrow. “So, we sing?”
“No,” she replied. “We listen.”
They obeyed.
Silence fell, deeper than before. A wind swept through the glade, curling around the stones, stirring loose leaves and strands of hair.
Then, a low hum.
It vibrated beneath their feet. The ground thrummed softly far below the surface. And within it… words.
“Flame… Gate… Blood…”
The stones flashed once, hard enough to send everyone a step back.
