The officers exchanged a look.
"Your son has an intellectual disability?"
She froze for a split second.
"Officer, Benny isn't all there, but he has a good heart. He'd never break the law!"
I hovered above them, watching her put on the perfect act.
If she hadn't driven me to my death herself, I might've believed her too.
Just then, Benny came back.
The second the officers held up my picture, he snatched it away before they could say a word and giggled.
