The Alpha’s Heat
Just caged in place by the very pull he was trying to fight.
“Don’t lie to yourself,” I whispered, tilting my head, letting the blood at my chest stain the fabric deeper. “Hurting me hurts her. Hurting her hurts you. But this… ” I pressed a hand to my wound, fingers slick with red, then lifted them to my mouth. My tongue dragged across my own blood, slow, deliberate. “This doesn’t hurt you at all.”
His breath hitched. Just once, sharp. His pupils widened, black drowning gold.
