Kat stood in the narrow hallway outside Levi's room, gripping the edge of a laundry basket she had hastily grabbed from the utility closet. Her heart hammered so loudly she swore it would alert the entire building. Just act normal. It’s laundry. Everyone does laundry, she told herself, though she couldn’t remember the last time she’d ever voluntarily done a load.

Sherly stopped in front of the door. While holding the doorknob, she pressed her ear against the door body. No more knocking sound. Curious, Sherly peeked through a small hole in the door body. There was no one at the door. The knocking sound disappeared like a gust of wind that just passed by. "Am I just dreaming?" Sherly muttered while scratching her head. Just as Sherly turned to go to bed, a loud crash came from outside. Sherly hurriedly put her ear to the door, sharpening her hearing. I wiped my sweaty palms on my pants as I heard light shuffling of feet before the door opened. I was expecting Grace to open the door but some lady, a little older than her, opened it.
