Liam’s POV There is a lot wrong with this place. That is the first thing I realize as I walk deeper into the mansion, my footsteps echoing softly against marble floors that have probably seen more blood than celebration. I don’t even know how to properly describe what I’m feeling. Fear doesn’t cover it. Loneliness doesn’t either. It’s like I’ve been dropped into a world where I exist only as an obligation, not as a person. No one here likes me. Not really.

Lily sat in her sprawling mansion, the silence enveloping her like a heavy blanket. Alone, she felt the weight of the world pressing down on her, each breath a reminder of her solitude. She had retreated from everything, refusing to take any calls. Mia had tried countless times to reach her; there had been calls from work, even from Ethan, but Lily didn't want to talk to anyone.

It was so quiet that she could almost hear her own breath in her ear. The mansion was lavish and grand. But also lonely and empty. She could not imagine someone living every single day of the year in such way.
