Dust drifted from the ceiling. Hayate moved beneath the sound. His blade reflected the faint glow from our marks. The window beside him cracked. A black hand punched through the glass. Hayate slashed. The arm vanished. The broken pane filled with smoke. It poured into the room and gathered near the ceiling. Two red eyes opened inside it. Kiyomi backed into the wall. Raiken released my hand. A growl shook through him. Bones cracked beneath his skin. His shoulders widened. Blue light spread across his throat and jaw.

I felt it pressing against my skin, raising the hair on my arms, making the lights flicker slightly. I'd never seen him lose control of it before. "You want to know the worst part?" he said finally, his back still to me. I said nothing. He turned around and looked at me, and his expression stopped my breath. Not anger. Not the cold alpha authority I'd been bracing for. Something that looked painfully and inconveniently like heartbreak.

"He was just a ghost. And I'm tired of ghosts." As Liam watched her taillights disappear, he chuckled and whispered to himself with a cynical smile, “You are so going to regret this, Robbin.” Before Liam could react, a low, muffled sound came from the shadows behind him. Liam’s eyes widened. A small, dark mark appeared in the center of his forehead. He didn't even have time to scream. He collapsed like a puppet with its strings cut, hitting the wet ground with a dull thud.

He muttered under his breath closing the door behind him as he barged into the familiar space, his heart rapidly drumming against his chest as his brain struggled to remain focus… the walls all around him spinning out of control as he growled irritably… “Ahh! What the fuck is going on… my head… ahh!” Victor slumped onto to cold tiled floors; pulling on his hair in sheer mental torment, yelling in confusion as a series of images invaded his subconscious mind… his thoughts were thrown into complete and utter chaos as trails of red liquid poured out from the corners of his orbs… his eyes were bleeding. ********************

I'm at a better angle to see everything that's happening because Jai-Blynn is doing his best to find us. Zane covers the vicinity with flames. They can only consume what they were ordered to. Jai-Blynn is cornered. He slows down, and then I create a slingshot. The ice ball targets his eye and hits bulls-eye. Jai-Blynn loses an eye. He growls in pain as blood drips out of his left socket in pints. He falls into the flames without knowing. They burn him. Zane and I bask in the pleasure derived from hearing his horrified screams.

He looks as though he’s been tortured within an inch of his life, and I’m not sure how much life is left in him. All over his body his veins are protruding through his skin and are the colour of snow, meanwhile white liquid is pouring from his eyes as he coughs up blood while a woman clutches his hand crying uncontrollably.

She stopped fighting it and as slowly as the droplets of rain came on her body, so also did new blood arise inside her veins. Images of her mother, Chloe, Tina, Brady, her father, Zeidan, and lastly her daughter flashed through her closed eyes and it was as if the wind that blew on her came together with strength. As she flung her eyes open, they were no longer red but a mixture of red and blue with stringing lighting of white. Her eyes looked like a ball of lightning or a cackle of electricity. She clenched her fist and dug them into the floor. The first one, the second one, slowly. Lyne could hear the swooshing of blades behind her, and cries of men who get killed. She didn't see anything

His eyes shimmer red, but now they’re different… the whites of his eyes are black while the iris remains crimson. My hand goes to my chest. “Oh!” I exclaim and watch as he recoils at my reaction. I take his hand in mine and shake my head. “Sorry, I just got a fright.”
