Mrs Willow never mixed business with family but when her stepson insisted she couldn't deny. Christmas was near...and as the city had snow everywhere it was a great time to cherish the Christmas spirit. People roamed around with their children and buying gifts for their loved ones. The decorated reindeers...fake and real were standstill in the streets. The fake Santa was waving the little kids...giving candies to them. At night, the decorated streets with Christmas lights enhanced the view. It was so perfect for Pidge...she was excited.

“As long as you stay with the guys” “I promise” Ryan climbed into the passenger seat and stuck his tongue out at me “You will never get shotgun” “That’s because Jack cares about me more than you” I teased. “That’s a fair point” Jack laughed as he walked back to the house. “So, what’s this about shopping?” Ryan groaned. “Since I found out that the gun and knife have real diamonds in them, I feel like I am skimping on my Christmas gift for Jack. I was hoping the two of you might be able to help me choose something”

My cheeks burn as I sit up, shoving my hair back. “Just packing, and packing’s a nightmare for me,” I say, dodging Jess’s suspicious grin who have been my best friend since forever. She knows me too well. “You sure you’re up for this weird family Christmas marathon, or should we just ditch them?” I ask, definitely not feeling the vibe of this so called holiday. Jess flops onto the couch, kicking off her boots. “Free food, snow, and your mom’s wine stash? I’m in. Plus, I gotta see these stepbrothers.”

“Daphne, it’s a week to Christmas, and you’ve barely called your stepmother or me. Is this how you want us to end the year? Without speaking? You know that brings bad luck into the new year, right?” I scoff. I don’t believe in that shit, just as I don’t believe in whatever celebrations the whole of New York is obsessed over. The decorations, the traditions, the superstitions…I believe in none of it, and my dad knows that. I also don’t have the best relationship with him, but we try. Moaning comes through the TV, and I roll my eyes, walking further into the house. Of course, Orison has something romantic playing on the screen because it’s freaking Christmas.

Carter had conveniently forgotten and then created the whole mess Jack was currently dealing with. “Right, so, you need to fix this,” Carter said when Jack didn’t answer. Gate is the biggest launch of the year and is going to be on every single gamer’s Christmas list. We need to be at that launch, Jack, and I don’t care what you have to do to make it happen.”

When all the gifts were sorted to their rightful owners Jaxsen paused. “Do we open them at the same time or one at a time?” “Go ahead and open yours first, Jack,” Sebastian told him. He watched as Jaxsen opened each one, his excitement growing with every one. Sebastian had gone all out, as had Nizhoni in buying Jaxsen’s Christmas. “Wow!” Jaxsen exclaimed as the picture display on the box came into view. At that moment Nizhoni snapped a picture. Sebastian smiled. “What is it you’ve got there, Jack?” He knew full well what it was.

, he asks surprised to which my smile widens. “Yes, jack bought me this!”, I exclaim happily. If it was some other time I would have pulled him in a hug but am not sure doing this might give him some encouragement for his feelings. “Why late?”, Jackson asks handing him the drink. He accepts it gladly taking a sip of his drink then release a sigh. He is wearing blue t-shirt with black jeans and leather jacket with Rolex watch lazily hanging on his wrist. I divert my eyes back on the crowd of people dancing.

Jax teased. "For real. I mean, just look at his abs. Nobody has abs like that." I was baiting him a little. I knew for a fact that Jaxon was sporting some crazy defined abs under his t-shirt, and I could feel his hard body beneath mine as I laid on top of him. "How did you even dress up like Jacob for halloween?" He asked, not taking the bait. "I wore a tight t-shirt that looked like abs, the wolf tattoo on my shoulder, jorts, and tennis shoes. I also wore a long black wig so it looked like his hair before he cut it in the movies."

It still hasn't changed so I drop the toilet lid and sit on it, leaning on my arms and huffing as I wait. I think about Christmas morning and the gift I've gotten Jake. I smile warmly to myself as I know he'll love it. It's two tickets to the boxing match downtown. He told me weeks ago that he adored boxing and one of his favourite boxers was playing a match after Christmas so I bought him tickets along with a gold chain with little boxing glove pendants on it. It wasn't anything big but I hoped he'd like it, I spent ages wrapping it up in little blue tissue paper completed with a blue ribbon. Blue is his favourite colour.

Nick opened a bottle of champagne and Jackie poured it into glasses. Nick started a fire in the fireplace in the living room. They kicked their boots off and sat down on the white furry rug and talked about their day as they sipped champagne. The cold air from the sleigh ride had sobered Jackie up, so she figured another glass or two wouldn’t hurt. It was 11:30 p.m. Jackie was about to say something when the clasp broke on her tennis bracelet. “Oh, no,” Jackie said. She picked the bracelet up off the rug.
