Eden dropped the tray just after the door and set to turn back. “Put it closer, I thirst and hunger and the wolf’s bane has drained me of all my strength.” Catherine’s voice had suddenly lost its authority and now sounded weary and thin. Eden somehow felt pity for her, at first she thought it would be a prank but then, she lifted the tray from where she had earlier kept it and put it close to Catherine. Catherine’s wolf side was fully awake so she grabbed the drawstring off Eden’s dress, led her to the ground and tied it around her neck. Then she removed the belt that held her dress and tied Eden’s hands and feet together as well as her lips so she would not utter a word.

With a powerful leap, Jade launched himself at Orion, the ground shaking beneath his massive paws. Orion met the attack head-on, his muscles rippling as he met Jade's charge with equal force. Their collision sent shockwaves through the air, the impact resounding like a thunderclap. Claws clashed, canines snapped and gnashed as the two Alphas grappled, each attempting to gain the upper hand.
