THIRD POV It took a moment for Zira to realize she was being carried. Then, she looked up and saw James, who noticed she was awake. “You...you rejected me,” Zira said softly, and it tugged at James’s heart. “James would not reject you, Zi. I can tell he loves you,” James said to her. Zira looked at him, confused. “You’ve never called me Zi before, and why are you speaking in the third person?”

However, they couldn't locate James's car keys, and as they searched, James stumbled and fell once more. As James's eyes fluttered open, he saw Naomi, and relief washed over him. Rising to his feet, he embraced her tightly. "You came for me... I never expected you to come to the club. I guess you love me. You're the only one who cares for me. Rowan didn't... She chose David over me," James confessed, his words tinged with sadness. Naomi signaled to the bartender that she would be taking James home in her own car.

James stood on the highest balcony, dressed in black armor trimmed with silver. He wasn't smiling. He looked almost... weary. "You came." "I knew you would." Wesley stepped forward. "We're ending this today." James ignored him. Instead, he looked only at me. "The Third Key isn't hidden in this fortress." Confusion spread through our group. "What are you talking about?" I asked. James drew in a slow breath. "It never was." He closed his eyes for a moment, as though gathering the strength to speak. "The Third Key..."

_________________ 3rd Person The nursery was dark by the time James made it downstairs, the pups all sleeping safely in their beds and cribs. He could hear Isabel’s heart beating slow and steady through her door, a clear sign that she was already asleep. He wanted to see her so badly it hurt, and though he’d made his intentions about her very clear, their relationship hadn’t advanced to the point where he could walk into her room and climb into bed with her.

He nodded his head once moving a few steps forward unt he had almost closed the space between us. “Yes, you always seem like a completely different person. Smoothly moving from the calm, quiet, cold and collected Luca into an extremely cold, fierce and dangerous Luca which screams evil and so much fire all at once.” James explained slowly, his low voice drifting into my ears slowly and calmly and I absorbed the whole thing he had said, turning the words and things he had said around in my head.

Alice - POV "I'm sorry, what?" I asked, staring at James in disbelief. "Do you want me to repeat myself?" James asked. "It's hard to believe you're agreeing to marry me. Am I not damaged goods?" I blurted out my thoughts. "You speak constantly, lowering yourself as if you are trash. I don't see you that way; I see you as a fighter," James said, leaving me guessing. His eyes were fixed on me. "I see you in a different light, a strong woman."

James looked devastated. “I know.” “No.” Queen shook her head again. “You don’t.” Another silence. Then suddenly James dropped to his knees again. Ava cursed under her breath. “Not this nonsense.” James didn’t care. His eyes never left Queen. “Tell me how to fix it.” Queen stared. “What?” “Tell me.” His voice cracked. “Tell me what to do.” Nobody spoke. “I’ll do anything.” Ava folded her arms. Dangerous. Very dangerous. Because desperate men made promises.

James directly looked at the servants, “All of you shall serve as witnesses for what will transpire today. I pray that you will stay true to yourselves and to whatever it is that you admitted.” “You can lie to me. You can lie to yourselves, even,” James continued. “But you can never hide nor lie from our gods and ancestors. For they see everything. To defend what is guilty, to justify what is wrong shall bring misfortune to you and to those around you. I hope that we all understand that.” “Yes, Your Majesty,” they answered and bowed in unison. “Now, with all that said and done,” James faced the doors once again, “Bring in the accused.”

I push the door open. Nicholas is standing behind the King, leaning against the shelves lining the wall. Tobias sits in the chair to the side of the desk. Aiden hovers near the window. King James is seated behind the desk, facing the door. I bow. “Your Majesty.” Then I turn to Tobias. “Your Highness.” I straighten and close the door behind me. “General,” King James says with a nod, gesturing to the chair in front of the desk. “Please. Sit.”

His importance was diminishing in the eyes but Alex knew in their hearts , they will pay him back in tenfold and he won't back down when that day comes. James has been quiet since he came to the Hallberg valley. He was welcomed with open arms but , he looks withdrawn and suspicious that it has been eating him up, he will be seen talking to himself . He has surprised by the design and structure of the village but as a strategist, he feels they will be at a loss if they were evaded by this new kins.
