CHAPTER SEVENTY EIGHT CAMILLE'S POV : Well good luck to him and his perfect mate, whatsoever. I went about with what I was here for, what could I possibly clean again in this room. I just dusted a few, arranged few things and sat down in a corner. Everyone looks so happy and have things to be happy about. I know I have things I can be happy about like Ivy, Miss Clara but that's not it. That feeling of real happiness with family, not everyday getting belittled and treated like you don't matter.

I shifted slightly and looked up at him. “It’s not selfishness,” I said softly. “It’s happiness.” "If only..." Jazper Ray whispered "If only I could forget everything that happened in my past... And just be happy..." His voice was sad. His past was pulling him back again. “It’s not about forgetting, Jazper Ray,” I said gently, sitting up and trying to meet his eyes. “It’s about accepting it. Our past... it makes us who we are. It shapes us, helps us grow. But if you let it control you forever, how will you move forward?”

Turning around I see Jack standing there looking worried. I smiled sadly at him and started walking into his arms while thinking what was the correct way to handle the situation at hand. "Is it wrong that I'm jealous because my dad found someone he can love and be happy with and that someone isn't now only me anymore?" He took me into the hug and after a while, he pushed me away a little so that he could look into my eyes.

If she felt the need to hate me for it, then so be it, but I did what was necessary to get my wife back to eating, living her life and being there and present for me to love and cherish her. Ignoring the heart wrenching cries and sniffling I heard coming from the room again, I went to check the mailbox hoping to have a letter of approval in there that would hopefully get my wife's back to me. Hoping has become my only saving grace each time I have walked to the mailbox the last couple of weeks each and everytime just to have my hope crushed and having to continue again listening to the sadness coming from my Juliet. Each and every day I wake up hoping that today will be the day.

“The moment I emptied drawers and closet space.” She nodded and looked around. “So, where’s the food?” “Right. I was basically kicked out of the kitchen for suggesting that we feed you peanut butter and jelly.” “But peanut butter and jelly are awesome.” “That’s what I said too! But I was overruled and kicked out. Dinner should be up soon.” I gave her the remote, and she flicked through the stations until she landed on something called Snapped. It was basically a show about women who lost their minds and killed their husbands. When she crossed her legs and snuggled in, I knew she was excited over the find.

I didn’t like being bothered with this nonsense, and I certainly wasn’t going to let it affect my life. Frowning, I gathered all the contents of the email, packaged them together, and sent them to James’s inbox along with one simple line, “Control your woman.” After hitting send, I shut off my computer and left it behind. Claire’s games and James’s attitude were no longer things I needed to waste energy on. Right now, I just wanted to focus on my projects and my own life. I wasn’t going to spend another ounce of effort on something so meaningless. After taking on a few new projects, my schedule quickly filled up. I was so busy I barely had time to even glance at the news back home.

I was a good person. The next day was the wedding rehearsal, so I returned to the apartment early. When Gabriel came to pick me up, I had already composed myself, but he still noticed my puffy eyes. "Why are your eyes so red?" he asked, leaning down and gently kissing my eyelids. I forced myself to hold back the disgust and said, "I miss my parents." Gabriel smiled softly and squatted down to help me change shoes. "They must be happy for you, watching from above."

★One Year Ago★ Jade sat on the floor, sobbing loudly and scratching her arms, trying to get rid of the feel of her harasser's skin against hers. She kept replaying the last few hours in her mind. She could still feel his body against hers and it made her feel worthless and dirty. And like a thousand bugs were crawling through her skin, eating her up.

"I am happy now, and I will cherish what I have. I've moved on, and so should you. The past was all just a contract. Clinging to it is pointless." Her words struck Daniel's heart, leaving a deep wound. As he tried to speak, a call interrupted, "Sir, when I went to pick up the young master today, the teacher said someone had already taken him."

They tasted like beer. “Are you drunk already?” He chuckled. “On half a beer? No.” “So, you’re just being overly charming, laying it on thick.” My eyes narrowed. “What are you up to?” He quirked his brow at me. “What I am up to is cloud-fucking-nine, because I haven’t felt this good or been this happy in years. If I seem drunk, it’s because I’m drunk on happiness and…giddiness. I’m giddy.”
