4 Hi, Jason here. Figured I’d take this opportunity to clear some things up while Sarah’s unconscious. Don’t worry, she’s fine. I managed to get her into my car and to a safe location. Well . . . as safe a location as there is in our current circumstance . . . She’s been out for a couple of hours, but I expect she’ll be waking up soon, so let’s get this over with while we can. First and foremost, I’m going to assume Sarah has told you I cheated on her, probably with Mary Sue. I never cheated on her. I might be a heartless, work-for-hire killer, but I ain’t a cheating pig. Even assassins have morals, you know.

We are both startled by the sudden voice and I look behind Adrian to see Jason in the doorway. “What is it?” Adrian asks as he sits next to me and wraps his arms around me, pulling me to him. “That guy who helped your father has been arrested for kidnapping and attempted murder. I don’t think he will come out of jail anytime soon,” Jason says. “I will make sure of it,” Adrian says through gritted teeth. I place my hand over him to calm him down. He looks at me and sighs heavily.

“HAVE YOU GONE MAD?” “Money speaks, boss,” Kelso grins. Hans is petrified. “Put the guns down!” he begs. “Kelso, will kill me! What the hell are you doing, Kelso?” “Demanding a promotion,” Kelso lazily replies. Just at that moment, the door to the den opens and several men barge in. Salvez instantly recognizes Jason. “You!” He growls. “You’re the girl’s brother! I know you!” Jason is sickened to see Salvez and he points his gun at the don. Behind him, Gerald and several guards arrive. Jason is shaking in fury but he doesn’t shoot. He can’t be a killer. Even if it means sparing the life of his sister’s murderer.

My phone rang, but I ignored it and went in. Upon seeing me, Henry hung up and handed a case closure form to me. “I’ve found the murderer. Sign this.” I skimmed through the contents and felt my heart twist in pain. In the morning, Henry had promised to help me take revenge, but at this very moment, he was protecting the murderer and had just found a scapegoat to deceive me. “You’re saying that a terminal-stage cancer patient killed my father as a middle finger to society. Do you really think I’d believe that?”

I keep my voice calm, “I'm not the danger here.” Mmhmm,” he bites his lip, “sure, you're not. But you're still a suspect.” “Ah,” I sigh, nodding my head, “of course, I allegedly killed my mother, is that right?” “Not just that,” his lips curl in a cynical smile, “don’t go forgetting about Jason, now.” Jason Lane. The man who thought to put his hands on Nina. “I don't know what you're talking about.” “Sure, you don't,” his smile fades, “but I'll dig up every cemetery and every shallow grave until you remember.”
