For a moment, I held his hand as his eyes bore into mine, then, with a heavy sigh, Jason's eyes fluttered closed, his body slumping forward as he lost consciousness. His fingers found the edge of a heavy glass candle holder on the table behind the couch. "You want to know what I think?" Todd said, drawing Jason's attention back to him. Jason narrowed his eyes. Reaching into his pocket he took out a small metal case, inside were several of Jason’s hand rolled cigarettes. He held it out to me, and I took one, lighting it. I carefully stand up and gently place her back in the crib. I cover her up and quietly leave the nursery.
