But now, seeing her with someone else, it felt like a betrayal of everything I had fought for. I was completely blinded by rage and jealousy before even realizing I had walked up to her. I was consumed by an intense surge of jealousy and longing that I couldn't contain any longer. I said things that I immediately regretted—words that cut deeper than I ever intended. My hands clenched into tight fists, the knuckles turning white as my fingernails dug into my palms hard enough to draw blood. Small crescents of pain bloomed where my nails broke skin. I could feel one of the stitches on my ribs pop from the tension, a warm trickle of fresh blood seeping into the new bandage, but I didn't care. The jealousy was a living, breathing monster inside my chest, clawing at my lungs and squeezing my heart until I thought it might burst. It consumed every rational thought, every survival instinct, leaving only raw, primal possession in its wake.

I rise from my desk, suddenly filled with a bubbling anger from that mere statement. Just insinuating anything of the sort fills me with anger. “Do you wish to lose your tongue this afternoon?” “I’d do that and more for you if you’d also look at me and not just that two timing bitch that’s lying to you.” “Shut up!” I yell thunderously. Despite my effort of pushing the thought away, of not dwelling on her jealous words, the thought of someone else having her, someone besides me enters, and I lose my shit. My wolf is aggravated, wanting to lurch forward and rip her himself but we’re too occupied with tackling the other for control.

Angeline was seething as she said, “It’s not like I’m angry at you. I’m merely unhappy.” Jay knew the feeling well since he was constantly jealous of Cole in the past as well. He had been inexplicably irritable like this too. He felt strangely happy that Angeline was able to feel jealous because of him.
