Marco smiled and said, "That's my girl. Now, call your aunt because we need to perform a locator spell, but first, I must see Zion to understand what exactly occurred." Marco reached the location where Zion and his mother were spending the weekend. Approaching the room, he hesitated, debating whether to knock, wary of a potential setup. As he contemplated returning to his car to mind-link Zion, Zion emerged, clearing his throat. Marco chuckled, "I was just about to mind-link you. Do you grasp the peril of this mission? If it's a trap, we might not make it out alive." Zion offered a reassuring smile, acknowledging Marco's apprehension, and welcomed him inside.

I said, rising from my seat as I looked outside the window. "Jax betrayed him. He killed his family knowing he was captured. Jax was supposed to protect his family but he turned against him, killing them in cold blood. Marco would break at that. Working for Jax is all he has ever known, and Jax couldn't protect the ones he loved. It's a sad story. One that Marco wouldn't recover from. Jax had marked their house with his Mark of Death to prevent the human authorities from messing with his deeds." I let out a dark chuckle.

If it wasn’t about to get Raven killed, the sheer bravado of it would have been cowboy poetry worthy. “Two minutes out,” Tony said, rounding a corner so quickly the tires squealed. I went over in my mind all that I knew about Marco Vitelli. Former Italian special forces. Expert in interrogation and demolitions. Utterly loyal to Xaviero (maybe since the latter had saved his life after Marco's family tried to kill him for fighting too much. Marco didn't just kill people. He made them suffer first. Made them beg. Made them break.

The enemy of everything she stood for had captivated her, and she couldn't shake the feeling that she'd been played. Suddenly, the face her mind had tried to ignore stared back at her. Mr. Xang was in the photo too, standing at the extreme left of the photo, his arms draped tightly around a naked stripper's waist. He was the arms dealer she'd killed, and remembering she was the one that did the world that favor brought her a fleeting solace. Mr. Marcus Xang was connected to Stefan and the De Rico Mafia Empire. But how? Why?

I replied, trying to sound casual, but Marco didn’t look convinced. “That’s exactly why it’s suspicious. I’m not always home, but whenever I am, you two seem inseparable,” he said, his gaze shifting between us. “Inseparable? Stop saying nonsense. We’re just friends, right, Xavier?” I asked, hoping he would back me up, but he only looked at Marco with open disdain. Who exactly was he trying to antagonize right now? Couldn’t he at least help me out? “Oh, I get it now!” Marco suddenly exclaimed, and my heart skipped a beat. Had he figured it out?

Then we left. Leaving Marco's body alone. Dead. Because of me. Because I'd come to New York. Because I'd made a deal with Vincent. In the car, Jax made a call. "It's done. Ghost did it." A lie. But Vincent wouldn't care. As long as Marco was dead. "He's pleased," Jax said. "Says you can see Em now." Small comfort in an ocean of loss. Marco was dead. And I had to live with that.

Marco quickly raised both hands in surrender, "I come in peace and I come with a deal. I have a way to tackle Andrea in order for you to take over Gabriel Accardo's Empire." "And what exactly made you think I'll care about your lousy plan?" She scoffed, piercing him deeper with the knife. "I know what you're thinking about Andrea. But I'm here to tell you not to underestimate her." He informed, causing her to raise an eyebrow in surprise. "What do you mean?" "I don't know if you know her, but there's a famous assassin called Ghost. She's swift and adept in combat skills. Although indisposed at the moment, she'll be back to help Andrea as soon as possible." Marco said with a smile.

Jace shouted into the comms unit. "What the hell?" I asked, wondering what all of that was about. "Your brother is in a lot of trouble." Jace sighed, turning back to me. "What? Why? Wait.. How do you know he's in trouble?" I asked. "Because that wasn't just any man that just entered his building. That was Blaze Maddox." My eyes went wide in surprise. "As in the Blaze Maddox? As in the leader of the Cobras? The one that had gone missing?" I ask, making sure I was understanding everything properly.
