She cat-walked over to the plush armchair by the window, where her journal lay open. Stephanie wasn’t much of a writer, but lately, it helped organize her thoughts—or, as she preferred to think of them, her plans for world domination. She picked up the pen, tapping it thoughtfully against her chin.
“What’s the play, Steph?” she asked herself aloud. “Do we use this little nugget,” she patted her stomach again, “to climb the ladder? Secure some power? Or do we just rip Laura’s little fairytale to shreds?”
