After a knock, we were immediately ushered inside by one of Mother Renata’s clerks, and she welcomed us with a gauging look. The sister looked double my age and her crooked reading glasses made her seemed older, but she sounded like a kid as she spoke.

“I am sorry to interrupt, Sister Faustina, but we need to see Mother Renata about a little hitch these girls caught their selves into.”
“Mother Renata is currently occupied. She is attending to an important matter, but you can wait for her here.” She continued on with her book without inviting us, even Martha, to take a sit.
