I looked back at the pages of the book, wrapping myself more closely in the gray scarf Oliver had given me for Christmas. However, I was not allowed to return to the land depicted in the story from my book, because I sensed a strangely familiar aura that was getting closer and closer to our property. My first thought was mother, because the structure of the aura was very similar, but a few details did not match. I put the book on the table and lifted the blanket from my lap, setting it aside, before giving Oliver a meaningful look. I see Luke smiling down at me as he stops spinning us. “Damn it, Luke, put me down,” I tell him. All he does is laugh, but he does set me back down. I see Arlo standing off to the side beside Riley. That is when it sinks in that these are the three teammates that Riley told me about moving in. Shit, how the fuck am I suspossed to live with Dylan. Now my fucking crush won’t ever go away. I look over to see Riley staring at the two of us and shake my head at him. Arlo grabs me and squeezes in a bear hug of his own. These guys are crazy, but I wouldn’t have them any other way.

He runs out of the room, arms wide like a bird and he begins to zoom around the suite. Lizzy leans against the door frame. And I stand from my kneeling position, acutely aware of her intense stare on me. “What?” I say glancing her way while I turn back to packing my bag. “While you are gone they are moving us to the third floor.” “I’m aware,” I reply, zipping up my bag. “I want to become part of the pack.” She says with resolve.

One Month Later Oliver sat back in the driver’s seat of his pickup truck and cautiously sipped at the piping hot coffee he’d just gotten from a drive-thru a block away. He’d tried calling Eliza on multiple occasions but it just kept going into voicemail. He left a few messages but got no response. Then, one day the number was no longer in service. He’d been devastated to discover that she’d run away after Richard showed up. Although, he couldn’t blame her. She had no idea that they were talking about werewolves. From the tone of the conversation, she probably thought that his brother was a murderer.

Now that's more like it. "Come on. Out with it." Martell says as he speaks through me. A pinch in my fingers lets me know that my talons have released. I tap them in a smooth rhythm as he starts to hum "this little piggy." I send a quick reminder to him that he won't be able to finish the game if he starts. We only have four fingers left.
