A shiver ran down Josh's spine as he responded, "Yes, Mr. York." Although Josh couldn't help but wonder who Landon was so concerned about, he dared not ask. Landon set down his diamond-encrusted pen and opened the livestream app. His narrowed eyes seemed to fixate on something as he stopped scrolling again. Josh observed him with heightened curiosity. Had he been nearer to Landon, he would have heard Landon's subtle chuckle as the latter typed out a response. "What do you want to discuss?" Landon waited for a response; he didn't seem like he would continue to work.

He’d had to attend to an unexpected phone call that had lasted much longer than he’d expected, preventing him from joining them for a movie. He neared the home theater room, and some instinct urged him to pause by the doorway.
