The Inheritance Clause

The Inheritance Clause

POV: Avalon Pierce Kevin Walsh answered at seven thirty. “I need to ask Gloria Reyes’s mother something,” Avalon said. “Through you.” “Tell me,” Kevin said. Avalon told him about Edward Pierce. Kevin was quiet for a long moment. “Her name is Esperanza,” Kevin said. “Esperanza Reyes. She’s seventy nine years old and she’s been waiting forty five years for someone to say it was wrong.” “Will she hear it from him?” Avalon asked.

Divorced By Mistake: My Ex-wife Becomes a CEO

Divorced By Mistake: My Ex-wife Becomes a CEO

It’s James. “Hey, James. What did you find?” I ask, my heart rate picking up.“Bill, you’re not going to believe this,” James says, his voice tinged with excitement. “I dug into Carlos Alvez’s background like you asked. Turns out, he has a daughter. She’s about six years old and lives with her mother in a small town outside of LA.” I sit up straighter, my mind racing. “A daughter? That’s interesting. Anything else?”

After the CEO Divorced Me, He Wants Me Back

After the CEO Divorced Me, He Wants Me Back

She stood up and turned to Maria, saying, "I'm going to the restroom for a moment. We can leave together afterward." Maria nodded. "Alright." After leaving the cubicle, Aveline stood in front of the mirror, washing her hands. In the reflection, she noticed Judy approaching, her expression dark and her gaze filled with disdain. "Miss Young, don’t you think what you're doing is a bit pathetic?" Judy remarked, her tone dripping with contempt. Aveline calmly washed her hands and then grabbed a paper towel to dry them. "Do you? I think it's fine." Judy’s voice sharpened. "You’re divorced. Clinging to him like this—isn’t it a bit shameless?"

Camila

Camila

Camila's P.O.V "Okay, I'm off" Judie smiles at me from my room doorway. She was all dressed up, wearing a brown coat over her attire, I didn't ask to get a look at her outfit because I just know she's dressed for some work thing. "Oh, off to New Zealand already?" I ask, sitting up and placing my iPad on the bed next to my many papers and pillows. "Yes, the boss demands it" she chuckles, her eyes looked at me longily after a few seconds.

Alpha Kate

Alpha Kate

She’s crying again, only this time it’s rivers of tears, she murmurs, “I’m sorry for everything you suffered Caleb, I’m sorry we weren’t better to you and your family. What can I do now?” “Oh Kate you’re already doing it. You’re here and you are part of my revenge on the high-ranking official who destroyed my family.” “Who was it?” she demands. “Alpha Jackson, Kate” … pausing at the look of horror on her face … “Alpha Jackson.”.

Also I’m happy about how strong the main female character, Alpha Kate is. She never backs down from any of the pressure to conform to any of the backwards old fashioned ideas for women and sticks to her principles! I can relate to her and the struggles so it’s an encouraging story. Well done author!

Love this book. Poor Kate went through so much during the course of this book. She went from being rejected, having to postpone being made Alpha, to being challenged and attacked multiple times. I'm so happy that she finally got her mate, Colby, who seems to be amazing.

JADED

JADED

Jade shut the door after Jacob left, biting her lip as she walked to the bathroom. She stared at her reflection in the mirror, tears falling from her eyes. She hated the person she was becoming - an irritable person with no interest in life who keeps pushing away everyone from her. She didn't want to spend the rest of her life alone but she knew she probably would. Everyone she knew hated her. Rachel, Sergio, Principal Dolan, her teachers, and her classmates all hated her. Sally only pretended to like her because she was her father's wife. Lewis only protected her because he was paid to. Jacob couldn't wait to be rid of her. And Shawn - she had no idea why he was even pretending to like her.

Ava

Ava

“I’m Adelina and I’m calling from KlasyRhodes fashion home, Luanda. We need you to create some designs ma. We want to put up a fashion show and we need new unusual foreign designs.” Could she just stop with the madam thing, Chava had cringed one of her fists already; she didn’t like to be addressed with ‘ma’. Luanda? That was an African country and the caller didn’t sound like a regular client. Where did she get her contact from? “OK, my name is Chava or you can call me Miss Ava.” She smiled. “OK mad--sorry, Miss Ava. How much is your rate?” “When is the deadline? And how many designs?”

Alpha Alcander

Alpha Alcander

Thirty -Jenna- "There's a girl named Janet who makes really good sandwiches." Helmer says to trying to break the tension in here, then taking another bite out of it. I looked back to Alcander and see him taking a step closer to him while his head twitches while he keeps blinking. Each blink his eyes would change, hazel, blue, bright hazel, bright blue. He took another step closer while his breathing is harsh. "Alcander." I say while I look over to Helmer and see him looking down at the freakin sandwich, not paying attention that an Alpha might just end his life right here with no mercy.

Mr. President: After pregnant, I have the chance to escape

The window rolled down, and the person in the car was Isabella. Judy had been working at Caler Group for some time, but she had never seen Lewis's parents and didn't know what they looked like. But she clearly felt that the person in the car was looking for her. Judy walked over and asked politely, "Hello, are you looking for me?"

Frequently Asked Questions

Julia Alvarez is one of those authors whose work just sticks with you, you know? She's snagged some pretty impressive awards over the years. The most notable is probably the National Medal of Arts, which she received in 2013—that’s a huge deal, like a lifetime achievement award from the U.S. government. Before that, she won the Pura Belpré Award for her children’s book 'Before We Were Free,' which celebrates Latino authors and illustrators. Her novel 'In the Time of the Butterflies' was also a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, and let’s not forget her Hispanic Heritage Award in Literature.

What I love about her is how she blends personal and political themes, especially in her exploration of Dominican identity. Her writing feels so alive, like she’s inviting you into her world. It’s no surprise she’s been recognized so widely—her stories resonate on so many levels, whether she’s writing for adults or younger readers.
